XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Seat LEON 5F Φ55 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2012-2026

The Leon 5F’s multi-link rear axle – fitted only to the higher-output Cupra and FR-spec cars in this range rather than the torsion-beam cars sold alongside them – already gives this Seat more rear-end composure than the rest of the MQB-based Leon line-up. The catch is that those same higher-spec cars usually left the factory with adaptive electronic dampers, and swapping to a fixed coilover on one of them means the car’s control unit needs to be told the DCC dampers are gone, or it sits there flagging a fault.

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover is built around that exact situation: a manually adjustable damper plus the cancellation kit needed to remove the electronic damping signal cleanly. It is set up for sealed-stage rally work, where the surface is tarmac but far from smooth – kerbs, crests, mid-corner compressions and the odd clipped apex at speed, repeated stage after stage.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2026 Seat LEON 5F (Rear Multi-Link)

Fitted to a multi-link Leon 5F, this coilover keeps the rear axle’s geometry doing its job under the kind of hard, repeated loading a torsion-beam car simply cannot take. The damper is tuned to absorb a hard strike over broken tarmac or a kerb without the harsh secondary shock transmitting straight into the chassis, which is what actually costs a driver time and confidence on a stage rather than outright grip. That same absorption keeps the tyre’s contact patch loaded through a bump instead of skipping it clear of the road, so traction holds where a stock or over-firm setup would let the rear step out. Because the electronic damping signal has been cancelled rather than left fighting the new hardware, the car’s stability systems are reading a suspension setup that actually matches what is bolted to the corners, not a phantom DCC input.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

This is XYZ Racing’s damper for sealed-surface rally use rather than fast road or circuit work: it is built to soak up the impact of rough, uneven tarmac and take a big hit over a kerb or crest without passing that jolt straight through the body of the car. Controlling that shock is what keeps the tyre’s contact patch working properly and the rear axle stable through a stage rather than skating over broken surfaces. The result, on the road or over a stage, is a car that settles and stays predictable rather than pattering or stepping wide after a compression. The valving here comes directly from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme, so the settings reflect what the team has actually needed to keep a car composed at stage pace rather than a generic road tune turned up.

Fitment for the Seat LEON 5F (2012-2026)

Built for the Seat Leon 5F, chassis code SE23-4-C, across the 2012 to 2026 production span, specifically the multi-link rear-axle cars rather than the torsion-beam versions. This kit includes the cancellation kit required on cars originally fitted with electronic adaptive damping, so the factory control unit is not left looking for a signal from dampers that are no longer there.
