XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Pontiac SOLSTICE 2006-2010

The Pontiac Solstice’s PN01 Kappa platform sits low, sits balanced, and was built around a lightweight rear-wheel-drive roadster that handles tarmac with minimal drama. None of that serves you when you’re sideways across a loose gravel stage. The Solstice’s stock suspension geometry offers modest travel suited to smooth surfaces – plant the car on sand, silt, or snow and that travel runs out fast.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built around the demands of competition use, not road compromise. Inverted-tube construction, extended stroke dimensions, and spring rates validated by active rally teams make this the right foundation for a Solstice built around gravel stage or rallycross competition.

What this coilover does for your 2006-2010 Pontiac Solstice

Rallycross imposes some of the most destructive surface conditions in closed-competition motorsport – the Solstice’s stock dampers were not designed for repeated high-impact loading from loose stone and compacted silt at speed. The inverted-tube layout moves more mass to the top of the assembly, improving unsprung-weight characteristics and keeping the car’s light roadster body composed through the compressions a gravel stage delivers. Extended stroke and long springs absorb chassis vibration and manage the sustained G-forces under high-speed direction changes that a compact, rear-driven roadster like the Solstice generates on loose-surface corners. Spring rates have been run in anger by rally racing teams and set accordingly – these figures come from competition data, not road-car extrapolation.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

Rally Cross imposes the most severe demands of any closed-competition format – variable surfaces, blind crests, and compressions that would destroy a standard road damper within a single stage. XYZ Racing built this unit around an inverted-tube layout engineered to handle different surface types: sandstone, snow, and silt each behave differently under load, and each requires a damper that responds without bottoming or cavitating. Long-stroke construction and extended spring lengths maximise the chassis articulation needed to keep all four contact patches loading properly when the surface drops away. Every spring rate setting has been tested by the XYZ Racing rally programme. The Gravel Rally is not a versatile road-to-stage unit – it is a competition damper for competition use.

Fitment for the Pontiac Solstice (2006-2010)

Designed for the Pontiac Solstice on the PN01 Kappa platform, covering the full production run from 2006 to 2010. The 2.4-litre naturally aspirated base car and the 2.0-litre turbocharged GXP share the Kappa architecture, so confirm your specific variant and any front-to-rear spring rate requirements against your build specification before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
