XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz E CLASS W124 4 CYL (Modified Front Integrated) 1986-1995

The W124 E-Class carries its weight low and long, with a multi-link rear axle that Mercedes engineers built for stability, not slip angle – which is exactly why drift builds have to fight the chassis to get it to break loose on demand. The Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover exists to overcome that factory bias, giving the car the fast weight transfer and controllable body movement a drift run actually needs.

On the 4-cylinder W124, with its front axle already carrying less mass than the six-cylinder and V8 cars, that weight transfer happens quicker once the ride height and damping are set up correctly. This kit is built around that reality – a coilover platform for competitive drifting on this chassis, not a general ride-height drop.

What this coilover does for your 1986-1995 Mercedes Benz E Class W124 4 CYL (Modified Frt Integrated)

Drop the ride height correctly and set the bump stroke as intended, and the W124’s body control through a committed angle changes noticeably – less roll, less delay between steering input and the rear stepping out, more of the car’s mass working with the driver instead of against them. The three external adjustment knobs let you tune compression separately front and rear, so you can bias the setup toward how much rotation you want to carry mid-slide versus how much the car settles under transition. Front-end integration on this modified-front spec keeps the geometry consistent with the rest of the kit rather than mixing damper behaviour across axles, which matters once you’re loading the front outside corner hard during a link. The result on this particular chassis and engine combination is a car that stabilises its body at speed through a turn instead of wallowing, which is the whole point of running a purpose-specific drift coilover rather than a fast-road set.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This is a coilover built specifically for drift competition, not adapted from a track or road platform. Its design is aimed at keeping the car’s body stable through fast, high-angle turning so the driver can hold a clean, consistent line rather than fighting body roll mid-slide. Ride height comes down with a deliberately calculated bump stroke, which is the mechanism behind the improved drift control – get that stroke wrong and the benefit disappears, get it right and the car settles into the angle instead of hunting for it. Damping runs through three external adjustment knobs feeding small oil-hole passages; over big bumps or kerb strikes that small-passage design can produce a minor noise as oil moves through the restriction, which is normal and not a fault. The kit is built with circuit and track surfaces in mind, so ordinary track bumps and undulations are accounted for in the design rather than treated as an edge case.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz E Class W124 4 CYL (Modified Frt Integrated) (1986-1995)

This kit is built for the Mercedes Benz E Class W124, 4-cylinder cars, across the 1986 to 1995 production run, with a modified front axle featuring an integrated damper design (chassis reference ME45). Confirm your car sits within this 4-cylinder W124 range before ordering, since the front-integrated modification is specific to this build spec and isn’t shared with the six-cylinder or V8 W124 platforms.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
