The knobs use a small-orifice oil-metering design to achieve that granularity of adjustment; on rough sections of track this can produce a faint clicking or ticking noise as oil passes through the small passage, which is a normal characteristic of the damper rather than a fault. The monotube construction and circuit-specific valving are aimed squarely at repeated hard use on a closed track, where consistency lap after lap under sustained heat matters more than outright compliance on broken B-roads.
