XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz C CLASS W203 5-6 CYL (Modified Front Pillowball Top Mount) 2000-2007

The W203 C-Class’s rear-wheel-drive layout puts the entire launch on the rear axle the moment you leave the line, and how fast that weight settles onto the tyres decides how much of the car’s power actually turns into forward motion before wheelspin eats it. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for this C CLASS is built around that single half-second, not the corner-to-corner work a Sport or Track coilover is tuned for.

This kit is specced for the 5-6 cylinder W203, fitted with the modified front pillowball top mount, across cars built between 2000 and 2007. Where a road or circuit coilover chases balance through a corner, this one is set up to control axle load the instant the clutch drops or the transmission brake releases.

What this coilover does for your 2000-2007 Mercedes Benz C CLASS W203 5-6 CYL (Modified Frt Pillowball Top Mount)

Down the quarter mile, front-end lift and rear squat happen in tenths, and this coilover’s damping and spring-rate range let you set how hard the rear plants under load without ballooning ride height so much that you lose the front’s steering geometry. Softening rear compression lets axle load transfer more completely onto the rear tyre’s contact patch as the car leaves the line, while the front end can be held firmer so the nose doesn’t wander under power. The modified front pillowball top mount removes the rubber compliance that normally soaks up steering feel under hard acceleration, so the front axle tracks straight through the launch instead of hunting for centre. Ride height is adjustable independently front and rear, letting you set a nose-down stance for weight transfer without touching the car’s alignment geometry separately.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing built this range specifically for 0-400 metre standing-start work across front-, rear- and four-wheel-drive platforms, rather than adapting a road or track spring rate for launch duty. The damping and spring combination is calibrated to move weight onto the driven axle the instant the car leaves the line, loading the rear tyre’s contact patch harder and faster than a general-purpose coilover would. That extra compression at the tyre is what cuts the time the wheel spends spinning free before it hooks up – the difference between a clean 60-foot time and a smoky one. The same setup holds that load through the rest of the pass, so the car stays settled at speed rather than going light once the initial transfer has happened, which matters as much on the way past 100mph as it does off the line. Adjustment and spring rates on this kit are specific to the drag-oriented tune, separate from the rates XYZ uses on its Sport or Top Sport coilovers built for cornering.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz C CLASS W203 5-6 CYL (Modified Frt Pillowball Top Mount) (2000-2007)

Confirmed for the Mercedes Benz C CLASS W203, chassis code ME49, across 5- and 6-cylinder variants built from 2000 to 2007. This kit requires the modified front pillowball top mount configuration rather than the standard top mount, so check which version your car needs before ordering – it does not cover the standard-mount or 4-cylinder W203 fitments.

If your W203 is set up for the quarter mile rather than the circuit, this is the coilover built for that job specifically – configure yours below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
