XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Land Rover RANGE ROVER SPORT 2005-2012

The L320 Range Rover Sport arrives at any gravel stage carrying two things simultaneously: a Discovery 3-derived platform with genuine off-road geometry, and the best part of 2,400 kilograms of vehicle that needs to change direction at speed across surfaces that offer no consistent feedback. Land Rover’s factory air suspension manages the road-to-rough transition well enough for green-laning and light competition, but the sustained compression events and unpredictable rebound loads of gravel rally cross demand hardware calibrated differently.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Land Rover Range Rover Sport (2005-2012) replaces that adaptive system with a dedicated rally cross unit, validated by racing teams across sandstone, snow, and silt conditions – the three surface types that define just how varied and punishing gravel stage terrain actually is.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Long-stroke dampers and extended spring travel give the L320’s chassis genuine absorption capacity across the kind of high-speed, high-amplitude surface inputs that quickly overwhelm a standard progressive-rate air setup. When 2,400 kilograms of SUV corners hard on loose ground, the G-forces acting through the suspension geometry are considerable – the inverted tube construction provides the lateral stiffness needed to resist damper flex under those combined vertical and lateral loads. Moving across surface types from silt to compacted sandstone changes the rebound characteristic the suspension encounters; the spring rate calibration reflects that variation rather than averaging it out.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

Rally cross sits at the punishing end of the motorsport surface spectrum, and the Gravel Rally series is XYZ Racing’s direct response to those demands. The inverted tube design places the larger-diameter outer tube as the sliding member – increasing bending stiffness relative to a conventional arrangement, which matters when lateral cornering forces arrive simultaneously with large vertical inputs from broken ground. Long-stroke geometry and extended springs give the damper range to handle the full compression travel the L320’s suspension links can accommodate at speed, absorbing chassis vibration that would otherwise be transmitted directly to the body. Spring rate settings for sandstone, snow, and silt have been developed and tested by rally racing teams, so the recommended baseline reflects documented competition use rather than theoretical calculations. This is not a road coilover offered with a loose recommendation for occasional gravel use – it is a rally cross specification part from the ground up.

Fitment for the Land Rover Range Rover Sport (2005-2012)

The Gravel Rally coilover fits the L320-generation Range Rover Sport across the full 2005-2012 production span, confirmed by the LN01 chassis designation. The fitment covers petrol and diesel variants throughout that model year range without variation. Confirm your build year and chassis code against the compatibility table below before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
