XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Infiniti Q50 (FRT FORK) 2014-2026

The Q50’s FRT-fork front end carries a lot of unsprung mass for a car that was never meant to see a gravel stage, and stock dampers give up long before the suspension travel runs out. Point this saloon down a loose surface at speed and the standard geometry hunts and bottoms instead of tracking. The Gravel Rally coilover is built for exactly that mismatch – long-travel, inverted-tube construction aimed at the compression events a Q50 sees when it’s asked to do a job its road dampers were never specced for.

XYZ Racing developed this kit for rally and rallycross use, where the road surface changes character every few hundred metres. Sandstone one corner, silt or snow the next – the Gravel Rally is the response to that variability rather than a single fixed setup.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2026 Infiniti Q50 (FRT FORK)

The inverted-tube damper body puts the larger diameter section up top, which keeps the working piston better protected from the debris a gravel stage throws at it – a real consideration on a car whose front fork geometry sits the damper low and exposed. Long stroke and a correspondingly long spring absorb chassis vibration that would otherwise transmit straight into the Q50’s body structure over washboard and rutted surfaces, and the extended travel gives the front end somewhere to go when the car lands hard off a crest instead of slamming into the bump stops. Spring rates are set to bear the extreme lateral g-force generated mid-corner on loose surfaces, so the FRT-fork front axle keeps working through the turn rather than folding under load. The net result on this platform is a car that stays composed when the surface underneath it stops being predictable.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This damper is built specifically for rally and rallycross competition, where road conditions are the most aggressive of any motorsport discipline the brand engineers for – which is why the shock absorber becomes the single most stressed component in the car during a gravel stage. The inverted-tube layout is a direct response to that brief, giving the damper a stronger, better-protected working section for repeated high-speed impacts. Stroke length and spring length are both extended well beyond a road-going coilover’s spec, so the unit can absorb chassis vibration and take aggressive hits from bouncy high-speed sections without the piston running out of travel. Every spring rate in the range has been validated by an active rally racing team rather than set on a bench, which is the difference between a setup that survives one stage and one that survives a full event.

Fitment for the Infiniti Q50 (2014-2026)

Built for the Infiniti Q50 (FRT FORK), chassis code IN15, covering the 2014 to 2026 model years. The FRT-fork designation refers specifically to this front suspension configuration – confirm your Q50’s front end matches this fork type before ordering, as Infiniti ran more than one front geometry across this generation.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
