XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Hyundai IX35 4WD 2009-2015

The IX35 4WD carries its mass higher and further forward than the saloons and hatches that normally show up at a drift day, and that raised crossover stance is the problem the XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is built to solve. Rather than fighting the car’s natural body roll mid-slide, this kit is set up to stabilise the body through high-speed turning so the IX35 holds its angle instead of wandering through it.

Getting there starts with ride height. Dropping the IX35 4WD onto the Drift Spec coilover and working through the available bump stroke correctly is what turns a tall SUV body into something a driver can place precisely at speed, which matters more on this chassis than on a low, wide coupe built for the discipline from the factory.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2015 Hyundai IX35 4WD

Lowering the IX35 4WD’s centre of gravity through the Drift Spec coilover cuts the pitch and roll that a factory 4WD crossover suspension was never tuned to resist during sustained oversteer. Bump stroke has been set specifically for drift use, so the wheel keeps working through the stroke as weight transfers under braking into the entry and load builds again through the transition, rather than topping or bottoming out and upsetting the car’s angle. That stability through the turn is what lets a driver commit to an angle on this chassis and hold it, instead of correcting constantly against a body that’s still moving after the front end has already settled. On a platform this heavy for the class, that translates directly into a car that’s more predictable to read from the seat.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec range specifically around competition drifting rather than adapting a road or circuit coilover for the job. The core aim is body control through high-speed direction changes: keeping the chassis settled so the car holds a clean, repeatable angle instead of the body continuing to move after the driver has already committed to the slide. Bump stroke is calibrated so that once the IX35 4WD is lowered to a proper drift ride height, the suspension still has the travel available to do useful work rather than running out of stroke at the exact moment load spikes mid-corner. The result, on the IX35 4WD specifically, is a taller factory platform that behaves less like a crossover and more like a car set up to be driven sideways on purpose. It’s a spec built around angle control first, with ride height and damping treated as the tools that get a heavier 4WD body there.

Fitment for the Hyundai IX35 4WD (2009-2015)

This Drift Spec coilover is built for the Hyundai IX35 4WD, chassis code HY15-1, covering the 2009 to 2015 model years. Confirm your build matches the 4WD drivetrain variant of this generation before ordering, as suspension geometry differs from the 2WD version.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
