XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Honda ACCORD CR 2013-2017

Stage rally on a ninth-gen Accord is a specific kind of madness – a 1.5-tonne mid-size saloon, originally engineered for motorway refinement, being asked to land jumps and rotate through fourth-gear gravel hairpins. The CR chassis has the wheelbase and the front-drive layout to be quick on loose surfaces, but the factory dampers were never built for the loads a gravel stage puts through them. That is exactly the gap this kit closes.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Honda Accord CR is built around an inverted-tube damper with long stroke and long springs, sized for the bounce, compression and lateral G of competitive gravel running rather than smooth tarmac.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2017 Honda Accord CR

The inverted-tube layout puts the larger, stiffer body at the top of the strut, which keeps bending loads off the damper shaft when a CR Accord lands hard or kerbs a rut at speed. You get a damper that survives the abuse stage rallying actually delivers, not a road kit asked to do a job it was never specified for. The long stroke means the front axle keeps contact with the surface over fast, broken sections instead of skipping wide, and the long spring lets the chassis settle into corners rather than chattering across the top of a loose surface. The spring rates have been tested by an XYZ Racing rally team, so the baseline setup is a starting point that already knows what gravel feels like – useful when you are setting a CR up from scratch with no factory rally data to lean on.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is engineered specifically for rally and rallycross use, where the road surface is the most aggressive of any motorsport discipline – sandstone, snow, silt, ruts, jumps. To handle that, XYZ developed an inverted-tube design that meets each of those conditions without compromising damper integrity. Long stroke and long spring are central to the spec: stroke absorbs chassis vibration and lets the damper soak up high-speed bouncy sections without bottoming, while the long spring carries cornering loads under the extreme G-forces you generate on a fast gravel turn. Every spring rate in the range has been validated by an XYZ rally team in competition, which is unusual at this price point – most aftermarket coilovers in this category are road-spec parts being marketed at rally use. The construction is built around survival first, adjustment second; this is a coilover designed to finish a stage, not just to win a static-suspension test.

Fitment for the Honda Accord CR (2013-2017)

This kit is specified for the ninth-generation Honda Accord on the CR chassis code, model years 2013 through 2017. Front-axle and rear-axle assemblies are matched to the CR’s strut and multi-link geometry as supplied from factory. Confirm chassis code on your V5 before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
