XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ford FOCUS HATCHBACK (Rear Twist-beam Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2019-2026

The Focus Hatchback’s rear twist-beam axle keeps unsprung weight low and the geometry simple, but on a sealed tarmac stage that simplicity works against you – every crest, patched repair and camber change arrives at the body with nothing but the beam’s own flex to soak it up. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover for the FO24-C chassis is built around that reality, with damping calibrated for repeated, high-speed hits rather than the occasional pothole a road car sees once a week.

This kit also carries XYZ’s cancellation kit for electronic damping, because Focus Hatchbacks in this 2019-2026 range can leave the factory with an adaptive damping system wired into the car’s ECU. Swap to a fully manual coilover without addressing that link and you’re left with a fault flagged on the dash every time the car starts; the cancellation kit removes that dependency so the manual set-up runs clean from the first stage.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Ford Focus Hatchback

On stage, the Tarmac Rally damper tune keeps the rear beam controlled under compression, so the axle tracks the road surface under hard braking into a hairpin instead of skipping across it. Front-end response sharpens too – turn-in becomes more direct because the coilover cuts the body roll a stock twist-beam rear would otherwise allow, keeping the nose loaded and the car rotating predictably through a tightening sequence of corners. Ride height is adjustable at each corner, so the Focus’s stance can be set for a gravel-crossing tarmac section or a purely surfaced route without touching spring rate. Because the electronic damping cancellation kit removes the factory adaptive-damper feedback loop, the car no longer hunts between comfort and sport modes mid-stage – the damping sits exactly where you’ve set it, corner after corner.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally line is XYZ Racing’s damper spec for closed, sealed-stage events run on public roads rather than a resurfaced circuit. Where a track-day coilover is tuned around a consistent, smooth tarmac surface, this set-up is built for the reality of a rally stage: broken edges, patched sections and mid-corner ridges a circuit never presents. The valving is calibrated to absorb a sharp hit – a pothole repair taken at speed, a ridge across the road – without passing that impact straight into the chassis, which keeps the tyre loaded and gripping through the rebound rather than skipping off the surface. That control also cuts the shock transmitted into the body structure itself, which matters over an event distance where the same kind of impact repeats stage after stage. The damping curve and spring rate on this kit come directly from XYZ’s own Tarmac Rally programme, so the settings reflect what held the car stable and predictable under real stage conditions rather than a generic fast-road compromise.

Fitment for the Ford Focus Hatchback (2019-2026)

This kit is built for the Ford Focus Hatchback with the rear twist-beam suspension layout, chassis code FO24-C, covering the 2019 to 2026 model years. It’s specified for the modified rear-integrated set-up and includes the cancellation kit required where the car left the factory with electronic damping control, so confirm your Focus falls within this chassis and equipment spec before ordering.
