XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari 488 GTB (with hydraulic lift, excl.control system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2016-2026

Stage-rallying a 488 GTB sounds absurd until you remember the Targa-spec builds and gravel-tarmac hybrid events that now welcome modern mid-engined supercars. The factory 488 was engineered for billiard-table circuits and the F1-derived SCM-E magnetorheological dampers were tuned for grip, not for compression travel over crested gravel. This XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover replaces that closed-loop electronic system entirely, with a dedicated cancellation kit included so the dash never flags a fault.

What you are looking at is a Rally Cross-derived damper transplanted onto the FE03-C chassis. The inverted-tube architecture, long-stroke shafts and long-format springs are the parts that matter when a 488’s flat-floor aero is suddenly trying to survive sandstone, silt and the kind of bouncy crested sections that would bottom out a standard road coilover in the first 200 metres.

What this coilover does for your 2016-2026 Ferrari 488 GTB

The 488 GTB’s twin-turbo V8 dumps 661 horsepower through a wide-track rear axle that, on loose surfaces, wants to either spin up at the slightest provocation or unload entirely over a yump. The Gravel Rally damper buys you compression travel the factory car has never had – critical for keeping that rear contact patch loaded through the rebound stroke after a jump or a deep compression. Inverted-tube construction stiffens the working portion of the strut against side-load, which on a car this wide and this heavy is the difference between a damper that survives a stage and one that pulls itself apart. Long springs let the chassis breathe over surface changes rather than skipping, and the spring rates supplied have been validated on Rally Racing teams’ test cars, not derived from a road-coilover catalogue. The included electronic-damping cancellation kit means no dash warnings, no half-active intervention fighting your inputs, and no SCM module trying to reinterpret what the suspension is doing.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is XYZ Racing’s purpose-engineered platform for Rally Racing and Rally Cross duty, where the road surface is the most aggressive in motorsport – sandstone one stage, snow the next, silt the one after. Inverted-tube construction is the central engineering choice: it puts the larger-diameter outer body at the top where the strut sees the most bending moment, and shields the working surface of the shaft from grit ingress on the lower mount. The long stroke is the second deliberate decision – it absorbs the high-amplitude chassis vibration that breaks short-travel circuit dampers within a stage, and gives the spring enough room to deal with the G-loads of a fast cornering attack without coil-binding. Long springs work alongside the long stroke so rate stays linear through the full travel. Every spring rate in the kit has been validated on running Rally Racing team cars rather than calculated and shipped. This is a damper built for the most aggressive surface in motorsport, then adapted to the FE03-C platform with the cancellation kit needed to remove the factory electronic suspension from the loop cleanly.

Fitment for the Ferrari 488 GTB (2016-2026)

Specific to the FE03-C chassis 488 GTB optioned with the hydraulic front-axle lift system but excluding the lift control module integration. The cancellation kit included in this kit removes the factory electronic damping control so no dash faults are thrown. Covers production years 2016 to 2026.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
