XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Chevrolet CAMARO CONVERTIBLE 6 CYL 2011-2015

The fifth-generation Camaro Convertible loses a chunk of the coupe’s torsional stiffness the moment the roof comes off, and that shows up first on a rough, cambered B-road stage where the body wants to twist independently of the chassis rails. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover for the CH01-C-chassis Camaro is built around that reality – damping calibrated for sealed-stage work on broken tarmac, not smooth circuit asphalt.

For a car carrying the extra mass of a folding roof and reinforced sills over the standard 3.6-litre V6 platform, controlling body movement over compressions and mid-corner ruts matters more than outright spring rate alone. This kit is the rally-specific answer, tuned to keep the convertible’s longer wheelbase settled when the road surface stops behaving predictably.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2015 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible

Fit this kit to your Camaro Convertible and the biggest change is how the car handles mid-corner surface changes – crested compressions, patched tarmac, off-camber sections – without the body continuing to move after the chassis has already settled. The damper valving is calibrated to absorb hard, sudden impacts from broken pavement while keeping the tyre loaded and in contact rather than skipping across the surface, which on a rally stage is the difference between traction and a snap of oversteer. Because the convertible carries more unsupported mass through the middle of the car than the coupe, controlling secondary body motion after a big hit is where this kit earns its keep, settling the rear axle back down quickly instead of letting it float. The result on the road is a Camaro that tracks straighter over rutted, third-gear stages and stays composed when the surface changes without warning.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line specifically to deal with uneven, broken road surfaces rather than the smooth, consistent asphalt of a circuit. The valving is set up to absorb the shock of hitting a pothole or a heaved tarmac seam at speed, taking that hit out of the chassis before it can unsettle the car, while still keeping the tyre pressed into the road for grip through the following corner. That combination of shock absorption without losing contact patch is what XYZ describes as suppressing body shock while increasing tyre traction, and it is the core design brief behind every Tarmac Rally damper the company builds. The settings supplied with this kit come directly out of XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme, carried over from stage testing rather than derived on a dyno alone. It is a damper built for stability under load – a car that stays predictable and planted when the road throws something unexpected at it, which is exactly what a rally crew needs from the platform underneath them.

Fitment for the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible (2011-2015)

This kit is specified for the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible 6-cylinder, chassis code CH01-C, covering the 2011 to 2015 model years. It is matched to the convertible’s specific mounting points and ride height, not shared with the coupe or the V8 SS, so confirm your Camaro is the 6-cylinder convertible variant before ordering.
