XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Cadillac CTS II (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2014

The CTS II is an awkward drift candidate on paper – a near-1,800kg luxury saloon riding on GM’s Sigma II platform with Magnetic Ride Control wired into the dampers from the factory. That MR system is the problem this kit solves first: the Drift Spec is a full cancellation set that pulls the electronic damping out of the equation entirely, replacing it with a mechanical coilover platform you can actually set up for sustained angle.

For the 3.6 V6 and 6.2 V-Series owners turning these saloons into entry-level drift cars, the appeal is the long wheelbase and rearward weight transfer once the MR is gone. The Drift Spec is built around that – a stiffer, lower platform engineered to keep a heavy four-door composed at full lock.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2014 Cadillac CTS II (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

The first thing you feel is steering response. Removing the MR struts and dropping ride height shortens the front roll moment, so initiation off the brake or off the handbrake happens earlier and with less body lean masking the front-end load. The rear sits lower into its bump stroke too, which is where XYZ’s drift tuning is set up to live – more rear travel under load, less squat-induced understeer mid-corner. Spring and damper rates are pitched harder than the road-going Super Sport so the CTS holds an angle rather than washing wide when you settle into a long sweeper. You also get back the steering precision the MR system smoothed over: a heavy V-Series feels noticeably more talkative on turn-in once the OE damping logic is gone.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is XYZ Racing’s competition-drift-specific platform, not a re-badged fast-road kit. The brief is stability at high-speed turning angles and the ability to hold a clean attitude through transitions – the kind of behaviour you only get when ride height, bump stroke, and damping have been set up together for sustained slip rather than grip. The cancellation kit element is the key for the CTS II: it electrically decouples the factory Magnetic Ride Control so the ECU stops throwing fault codes, while mechanically replacing the MR struts with conventional adjustable coilovers. After lowering the ride height with the correct bump stroke, the chassis behaves predictably at the limit instead of fighting against an OE damping curve that was never designed for opposite lock.

Fitment for the Cadillac CTS II (2008-2014)

Sized for the second-generation CTS (chassis code CA02-C) across the 2008-2014 production run, including the saloon, coupe and Sport Wagon bodies that ran factory Magnetic Ride Control. The cancellation harness is part of the kit, so no separate MR delete module is required.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
