XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW Z3 4 CYL 1995-2003

The Z3 4 CYL’s short wheelbase and lighter four-cylinder nose already shift its balance further back than most BMW roadsters of the era, and the semi-trailing-arm rear axle underneath it is the part that decides how the car steps out once you’re past the limit. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that exact behaviour rather than fighting it.

Where a general fast-road setup works against the trailing-arm’s camber and toe change under load, this kit is set up to use it – holding the body flat and controllable through a slide instead of letting it snap. It’s the spec XYZ Racing runs for competitive drifting, and on the BM70 platform that means matching front and rear rates to a chassis that’s already willing to rotate.

What this coilover does for your 1995-2003 BMW Z3 4 CYL

Drop the ride height with the correct bump stroke and the Z3 4 CYL’s factory geometry – set up for ground clearance rather than cornering – stops working against you. The three adjustment knobs give you independent control over compression and rebound, so the rear can be set to release on command while the front stays planted enough to catch the correction. Because the 4 CYL nose carries less weight than the six-cylinder Z3s, turn-in needs less input to get the rear following, which matters when you’re setting an angle rather than just holding a line. The result is a car that breaks away where you ask it to and holds that angle through the rest of the corner, instead of arriving there on its own terms.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This is a coilover built specifically for drift competition, not a fast-road kit repurposed for it. The valving is tuned to stabilise the body through high-speed direction changes so the car settles into a controlled angle rather than fighting the driver for it, and the correct ride-height and bump-stroke setup is what unlocks that behaviour rather than a symptom of lowering the car. Each corner runs three adjustment knobs built around a small oil-hole damper design – a deliberate choice that lets the damper respond precisely to small inputs, though it does mean you’ll hear some noise as oil moves through the narrower passage over rough sections. That’s expected, not a fault: this coilover is built for circuit tracks where bumps are part of the surface, not eliminated from it.

Fitment for the Bmw Z3 4 CYL (1995-2003)

Built to chassis code BM70, covering the four-cylinder BMW Z3 across its full 1995 to 2003 production run. This kit is matched to the 4 CYL Z3’s lighter front-end weight distribution rather than the six-cylinder cars, so front and rear rates are set for this specific version of the platform.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
