XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — BMW 6 SERIES E64 6 CYL 2004-2010

A long-wheelbase GT like the E64 6 Series carries its weight low and far between the axles, and that mass doesn’t take kindly to being pitched sideways on a loose surface. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built around that problem: extended front and rear travel gives the chassis somewhere to go when a rut, a snowbank edge or a washboard gravel section tries to unsettle it, instead of transmitting the hit straight into the body.

For 6-cylinder E64 6 Series cars run on loose or wintry surfaces, that extra buffer distance is the difference between a planted car and one that’s constantly correcting itself mid-corner. This isn’t a fast-road street kit; it’s a coilover for owners who point their 6 Series at rally-style stages, snow events or long, rough-surface runs and need the suspension to survive repeated abuse without cooking itself.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2010 BMW 6 Series E64

The extended stroke front and rear keeps the E64’s tyres in contact with the ground over terrain that would have the factory dampers topping or bottoming out, which matters on a car this long when one axle is loaded and the other isn’t. A larger internal reservoir for suspension oil and nitrogen gas gives the damper more thermal mass to work with, so oil temperature stays under control through a long stage or an extended snow run rather than spiking and fading the damping just when you need it most. The 3-way adjustment lets you soften the low-speed circuit for washboard and chatter while keeping enough high-speed control for the odd hard hit, without swapping parts between events. On a heavier GT platform like the 6 Series, that combination holds the body flatter over crests and compressions, which keeps the steering honest when the surface underneath is already unpredictable.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow line specifically for rally and rally-cross use, and the longer travel front and rear is the headline change from a circuit-focused coilover: more room for the wheel to move means more buffer before the chassis feels a hit. The bigger change is internal – a larger volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas gives the damper more capacity to absorb heat, which is what stops oil temperature climbing to the point where the shock loses consistency after repeated hard use. Each damper carries 3 external adjustment knobs, and because the oil is metered through a deliberately small passage at those knobs, you may hear a faint noise when the car crosses larger bumps – that’s the damping circuit doing its job, not a fault. XYZ Racing rates this construction for circuit-track use as well as loose-surface events, so kerbs and bumps on a track day fall well within what the damper is built to absorb.

Fitment for the BMW 6 Series E64 (2004-2010)

This kit is built for the 6-cylinder BMW 6 Series E64, chassis code BM45, covering the 2004 to 2010 production run. Confirm your car sits within that build window before ordering, since the E64 range spans more than one engine and mounting configuration across its life.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
