XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES G82 M4 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2021-2026

The G82 M4’s twin-turbo S58 six sits nose-heavy over a chassis BMW tuned for billiard-table circuits, not the compressions, crests and mid-corner ruts of a closed tarmac stage. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover is built for that mismatch – a damper tune that keeps the tyre loaded through repeated hits instead of skating off the top of a rut.

Where a track-day spec chases outright roll stiffness, Tarmac Rally trades some of that for compliance the M4 was never given from the factory. The Modified Rr Integrated rear unit works with the G82’s multi-link rear axle rather than fighting it, so the back end stays settled when a stage throws a mid-corner bump under braking.

What this coilover does for your 2021-2026 BMW 4 Series G82 M4 (Modified Rr Integrated)

On loose or broken tarmac the S58’s weight over the front axle wants to push wide the moment the surface breaks up; damping tuned for stage work keeps that front tyre in contact long enough to hold a line rather than skipping across the crown of the road. The rear end, carrying the integrated link geometry matched to the G82’s multi-link axle, stays composed under trailing-throttle direction changes instead of stepping out on a mid-corner compression. Ride height and corner-weight adjustment let you set the M4 for gravel-adjacent tarmac sections without dragging the front splitter, and the extra usable tyre traction the Tarmac Rally tune targets translates directly into earlier throttle application out of blind crests. The result is an M4 that absorbs the surface changes a closed stage throws at it instead of being upset by them.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line to deal with the broken, cambered and frequently patched surfaces a closed-road stage throws up, rather than the consistent tarmac of a circuit. The damper absorbs the impact of an uneven road surface and soaks up the jolt of a larger hit – a pothole repair, a farm-gate lip, a washed-out edge – without transmitting it straight into the chassis or unsettling the body. That control keeps the contact patch loaded, which is where the extra tyre traction comes from: less energy spent recovering from the last hit means more grip available for the next one. Every valving setting in the kit comes from XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme rather than a generic road-going baseline, so the compression and rebound curves reflect what happens when a car is driven at stage pace over surfaces a road car was never tested on.

Fitment for the Bmw 4 Series G82 M4 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2021-2026)

This kit is built for the BMW 4 Series G82 M4, chassis code BM118-1, covering the 2021 to 2026 model years. The Modified Rr Integrated rear specification matches the G82’s factory multi-link rear axle, so the rear damper mounts and geometry are set up for this chassis rather than adapted from a generic 4 Series application.
