XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES E30 4 CYL OE φ51 (Front Welding OE Rear Separated) 1982-1992

The E30’s short wheelbase and light nose over the 4-cylinder cars make the back end easy to swing but harder to hold once you’re deep into a drift angle, especially through direction changes. The Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that exact problem: locking the body down enough that the semi-trailing arm rear stays predictable through the transition, rather than letting camber and toe wander mid-slide.

This is a circuit-track drift setup for the 3 Series E30 4-cylinder OE φ51 platform, with the front strut welding into the OE housing and the rear running a separated spring and damper rather than a combined unit. It’s built for drivers chasing a consistent angle and line through a course, not fast-road comfort.

What this coilover does for your 1982-1992 Bmw 3 Series E30 4 CYL OE φ51 (Frt Welding OE Rr Separated)

Dropping the ride height with the correct bump stroke settles the E30’s centre of gravity enough that weight transfer during the initiation kick stays controlled, instead of pitching the nose and unsettling the rear. The three external adjustment knobs let you separate compression and rebound behaviour corner to corner, so you can stiffen the rear to hold an angle through a long sweeper while keeping the front compliant enough to catch the car cleanly on entry. Because the internals route oil through a small-hole passage design, response at the knob is finer than a coarse single-adjuster damper, which matters when you’re correcting a slide by feel rather than reacting to a spec sheet. On an E30 4-cylinder, where the front end is lighter than the 6-cylinder cars, that finer control over front-to-rear balance is what keeps the car pointing where you put it rather than washing wide mid-corner.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

The Pro Racing Drift Spec range is built specifically around competitive drifting rather than outright grip driving, with damping and spring rates set up to keep the body stable while the car is sideways at speed, so the angle you set is the angle you keep. Each corner runs three external adjustment knobs feeding a small-oil-hole internal design, giving a wider usable range at the low-speed end of the damper than a coarser single-knob unit typically allows. XYZ Racing built the platform for circuit track use, so kerbs and surface changes mid-corner are accounted for in the valving rather than treated as an edge case. You may hear a faint noise from the damper on bigger hits. That’s oil moving through the small passage under load doing its job, not a fault. Ride height drops with proper bump stroke retained, which is what lets the car settle into a controlled slide instead of bottoming out or ballooning the arc mid-drift.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series E30 4 CYL OE φ51 (Frt Welding OE Rr Separated) (1982-1992)

Covers the 3 Series E30 4-cylinder cars built 1982 to 1992, chassis reference BM04-1, running the OE φ51 strut diameter. The front fits by welding into the OE strut housing, while the rear uses a separated spring and damper rather than a combined coilover unit, so check both ends against your car before ordering.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
