XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES G87 M2 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2023-2026

The G87 M2 left Munich with adaptive M dampers that are clever on a smooth circuit and overwhelmed the moment the surface turns broken. Lift the throttle hard into a third-gear corner on a patched B-road or a sealed-stage rally, and the standard electronic damping starts hunting between modes while the rear axle pogos over compressions. That is the gap this kit is built to close.

This is the XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the G87 M2, supplied with the cancellation harness required to retire the factory EDC system cleanly. It swaps a reactive electronic damper for a passive, mechanically tunable platform tuned around the specific demands of fast tarmac stage work – high single-bump compliance, controlled rebound, and the body discipline a 1,725 kg rear-drive coupe needs when the surface stops being flat.

What this coilover does for your 2023-2026 Bmw 2 Series G87 M2

With the EDC cancelled and a true tarmac-rally damper in its place, the M2 stops fighting the road and starts using it. Big single hits – kerbs, expansion joints, mid-corner bumps that previously unsettled the back end – get absorbed in one stroke instead of being chased through three. Tyre contact improves immediately, which is felt first as a longer braking window and second as the rear axle staying planted on corner exit when the S58’s torque arrives.

The cancellation kit matters as much as the damper itself: it eliminates the EDC dashboard fault that would otherwise haunt the car, and it lets the chassis behave consistently rather than swinging between three preset maps. Ride height drops to a sensible road-and-stage compromise, weight transfer slows down, and the front end gains the bite the G87 hides behind its softer factory tune.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is XYZ Racing’s dedicated sealed-stage damper, not a re-badged circuit kit. Its valving is built to absorb the impact of uneven pavement – the brief, violent inputs that destroy lap-spec coilovers – by allowing a generous compression stroke that still recovers without floating the body. The internal settings are drawn directly from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac-rally programme, so the baseline arrives already biased toward traction over outright stiffness.

Construction follows XYZ’s full-monotube layout, with adjustable spring perches for ride height independent of preload, so the buyer can corner-balance without losing damper stroke. The damper character favours suppressing body shock over a big bump, then re-establishing tyre load before the surface changes again – the cycle that tarmac rally drivers describe as the car "settling between hits." On a road car driven hard, the same trait shows up as composure over British B-road camber and patchwork.

Fitment for the Bmw 2 SERIES G87 M2 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2023-2026)

This kit fits the G87 chassis M2 coupe from the 2023 model year through 2026 production. The included EDC cancellation harness is specific to cars originally fitted with the factory electronic damping system – confirm your car was specified with EDC before ordering, as the cancellation hardware will be redundant on any non-adaptive build.
