XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — BMW 1 SERIES F20 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) 2010-2026

The F20-generation 1 Series puts drive through the rear axle alone once you strip away xDrive and the M Technik chassis tune, which means every hard launch asks the same question of the rear tyres: how much load can you get onto them before the wheel spins. XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing coilover kit is built to answer that, for both the four-cylinder 116i-120i cars and the six-cylinder 125i/128i/130i variants covered by this fitment.

Where a track-focused coilover chases mid-corner body control, this kit is set up purely for the 0-400m run: get weight onto the rear tyres at the hit, keep it there through the run, and stop the car controllably at the other end. It replaces the front and rear struts entirely and is matched to the F20’s suspension geometry across the whole 2010-2026 production span, excluding EDC-equipped and M Technik cars whose electronic damping and chassis parts differ.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2026 BMW 1 Series F20

On launch, this coilover kit lets you shift the car’s front-to-rear weight split so more of the F20’s mass loads the rear contact patch the instant you release the clutch or a line lock disengages. That is the difference between a clean 60-foot time and a wheel that lights up and spins away momentum you cannot get back. Because the front and rear rates are independently adjustable, you can soften the nose to help it squat and stiffen the rear enough to control that weight transfer without the axle hopping. The kit also addresses what happens after the launch: cutting down how long a driven wheel spends unloaded keeps the car tracking straight through the run instead of wandering as one tyre repeatedly breaks and regains grip. At the top end, the same settings that controlled the launch keep the chassis settled rather than nervous once you are through the traps and back on the brakes.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing range is built specifically for 0-400m straight-line work rather than circuit or fast-road driving, and it is set up to suit front-wheel, rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive layouts, with front and rear valving tuned differently depending on which axle is doing the work. For a rear-driven F20, that means the kit is calibrated to move weight onto the rear axle the moment the tyre needs compression, rather than leaving the suspension to react after the fact. The intent is to cut the amount of time a driven wheel spends unloaded during the launch, which is where most of a bad run gets lost before the car has even left the line. Construction follows XYZ’s usual coilover format – full threaded-body height adjustment plus damping adjustment – so ride height and compression response can be set up specifically for a prepped drag surface rather than a public road. It is a narrower brief than a Super Sport or Top Sport kit, tuned accordingly: less concerned with mid-corner compliance, more concerned with getting power down in a straight line and keeping the car stable once it is there.

Fitment for the BMW 1 Series F20 (2010-2026)

This kit is built for the BMW 1 Series F20, chassis code BM75-5, across four-cylinder and six-cylinder engine variants from 2010 to 2026. It is specified for the standard chassis only – cars fitted with M Technik suspension, xDrive four-wheel drive, or EDC electronic damping control are excluded, since all three change the underlying suspension hardware this kit is designed to replace.

What buyers also search for

  • BMW 1 Series F20 drag racing coilovers for 0-400m launch setups
  • BMW F20 rear-wheel-drive suspension built for straight-line traction rather than track handling
  • BMW 1 Series 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder drag coilover kit excluding xDrive and EDC cars
  • BMW F20 launch suspension upgrade aimed at cutting wheelspin off the line
  • BMW 1 Series drag strip coilover kit with independent front and rear adjustment

Spec is set by engine layout and drivetrain, so pick your BM75-5 configuration and build yours below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
