XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Audi RS6 4B/C5 4WD 2002-2004

Sliding a permanent-quattro biturbo wagon is not what the RS6 4B/C5 was designed to do, and that mismatch is exactly why this Drift Spec coilover exists for it. Under the standard air suspension the C5 rides soft and nose-down, which is fine for autobahn cruising and useless for holding an angle – these coilovers replace that setup with a fixed, adjustable platform built specifically for stabilising the body through high-speed transitions.

For a car that splits torque across all four corners rather than sending it purely rearward, controlling the slide angle comes down to how well the chassis is held once the rear steps out. That’s the job here: keep the 1,800kg-plus estate settled through the turn instead of wallowing on its factory bushings and springs.

What this coilover does for your 2002-2004 Audi RS6 4B/C5 4WD

Drop the ride height correctly and set the bump stroke as intended, and the change in how this car transfers weight is immediate. Instead of the nose diving and the rear following a beat later, the body stays flatter through direction changes, which means the driver can read where the rear end is going rather than reacting to it after the fact. That matters more on quattro than on a rear-drive car, because the front axle is still doing meaningful work even when the back is sliding, and a chassis that’s pitching under load makes that front grip unpredictable. Stiffer, correctly-set damping keeps the contact patches doing their job in a straight line relative to the road rather than chasing body roll. The result on this RS6 is a car that holds a controlled angle instead of snapping through one, which is the difference between a repeatable drift line and a spin.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built this line specifically for drift competition rather than adapting a road or circuit spring rate to the job. The core of the design is stabilising the body during high-speed direction changes so the car can be steered into and held at an angle deliberately, rather than the suspension fighting the driver mid-slide. Ride height reduction is paired with a bump stroke calculated for that lower setting, so the shock still has usable travel left once the car is dropped rather than running out of stroke and going solid over kerbs or transitions. That combination – correct low ride height plus matched bump travel – is what XYZ Racing point to as the difference between a coilover that merely lowers a car and one that actually improves how it can be controlled sideways. On a heavy AWD platform like the RS6 that discipline in the spec matters more than on a lighter, rear-drive car, since there’s more mass for the damping to manage through every transition.

Fitment for the Audi RS6 4B/C5 (2002-2004)

Built for the Audi RS6 4B/C5 4WD, chassis code AU29-2, covering the 2002 to 2004 production run. This is the quattro-only 4B-generation RS6, not the later C6, so confirm the chassis code against your V5 before ordering.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
