Caliper render for this kit:

The T5 carries its mass like nothing in a car park – a kerb weight comfortably north of two tonnes before you bolt in a camper conversion, load the payload, or hitch a trailer to the back. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Volkswagen T5 VAN (2003-2015) takes on the rear axle’s share of hauling all that weight down, swapping the factory rear setup for larger, hollow-vane disc hardware built to shed heat when the van is working hard.
For owners running their T5 heavy – day-van and full camper builds, tow rigs, high-mileage workhorses leaning on the brakes down long motorway descents – rear fade tends to be the limit long before anything up front cries off. This kit hands the back axle the thermal headroom it was never given as standard, with a choice of pad compound so the brakes match how you actually use the van.
What this brake kit does for your 2003-2015 Volkswagen T5 VAN
Loaded braking is where you feel this kit. The hollow-vane disc runs cooler than the standard rear rotor, so the pedal stays firm and predictable on repeat stops rather than going long when the discs heat-soak under a full load. Choose the Street compound for quiet, low-dust everyday running, the Sport compound for a van that gets driven hard or tows, or the Racing compound if your T5 sees genuinely punishing use. Across all three you get more consistent rear bite and better fade resistance hauling a laden Transporter to a stop, plus a calmer, more planted feel when you brake into a corner with weight over the back axle.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit is XYZ Racing’s heat-management answer for the rear of a heavy platform, supplied as a matched left-and-right pair. The hollow-vane construction of the two-piece floating disc cuts rotating mass and opens up extra surface area for cooling, which is exactly what a laden van needs when the rear brakes are doing real work rather than just balancing the fronts. The kit pairs those discs with an uprated caliper that is hollow-cast as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for the hardest-worked vans that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Pad compound is specified when you order – Street, Sport or Racing – letting you tune the rear axle’s bite and temperature window to the van’s job. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, and braided lines keep the pedal firm under heat. Calipers are finished in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with Custom Color in any Pantone, polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold or Polished Silver, and candy finishes in Teal, Blue, Red or Orange to suit the build. It is a bolt-on rear upgrade engineered specifically to lift thermal capacity and pedal consistency on a platform that asks a lot of its brakes.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
