Caliper render for this kit:

The New Beetle 2.3i V5 hangs a heavy narrow-angle five-cylinder out over its front axle, and on the Golf Mk4 platform underneath it that weight bias means the front brakes do the lion’s share of the work. Every time you slow from a motorway cruise or lean on the pedal into a roundabout, load piles onto the nose, and the standard two-piece OE caliper setup runs short on bite and heat capacity well before a keen driver does. This XYZ Racing Front Brake Kit answers that with a larger front rotor and an uprated fixed caliper sized to the chassis.
It is aimed at owners keeping these retro VWs sharp for fast road work and the occasional track day in 2026, not at concours static display. Supplied as a matched front pair, the two-piece floating disc design strips rotating mass from each front corner, so the brakes shed heat and recover pedal firmness faster between stops, and the steering stays honest when you trail the brake into a corner.
What this brake kit does for your 2006-2010 Volkswagen New Beetle 2.3i V5
The bigger front rotor adds the thermal mass the factory hardware lacks, which is what keeps the pedal high and consistent when a single hard stop becomes three in a row. The fixed caliper clamps more evenly than the sliding OE arrangement, sharpening initial bite and making the brakes easier to modulate at the limit. You choose the pad compound to match how the car is used: Street for everyday driving, Sport for harder road work, Racing for sustained circuit sessions. The lighter discs cut unsprung weight at the front, which the steering rewards with cleaner turn-in and less of the heavy, nose-led feel the V5 carries from the factory. Caliper finishes run from the no-cost Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black through a custom Pantone colour to the polished-forged and candy options, so the upgrade looks deliberate behind a set of open-spoke wheels.
About the Front Brake Kit
The front brake kit is a complete front-axle big brake upgrade built around a vented two-piece floating disc whose hollow-vane structure lowers rotating mass without sacrificing the disc face needed to absorb heat. It pairs that disc with a fixed multi-piston caliper – hollow-bodied as standard – that replaces the standard two-piece OE unit, mounted on a bracket cut for this specific application. Pad compound is specified when you order: Street, Sport or Racing, letting you set the kit’s character to road, mixed or track duty. The caliper is offered in the no-cost Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, a custom Pantone colour, the polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, and the candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange finishes, with discs drilled or slotted at the same price. Construction is geared toward repeatable braking under heat rather than one-off stopping numbers, which is the trait that matters when a heavy front-engined hatch is asked to brake hard, lap after lap.
Fitment for the Volkswagen New Beetle 2.3i V5 (2006-2010)
This kit fits the Volkswagen New Beetle 2.3i V5 across the 2006 to 2010 model years. It is specified for the two-piece OE caliper variant only, so confirm your car runs that front caliper before ordering. The supplied bracket and rotor are matched to this chassis and the front-axle position.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
