Caliper render for this kit:

The Golf 7 R carries far more speed into a corner than its weight suggests, because 4MOTION traction lets you stay committed where a front-driven hatch would wash wide. That composure puts the front axle under real thermal load every time you scrub the speed back off, and the standard front discs begin to protest after a handful of hard stops. The XYZ Racing Front Brake Kit for the Volkswagen GOLF 7 R is built to absorb that abuse.
This is a front big brake kit aimed at owners who use the R the way it was meant to be used: fast road one weekend, a circuit session the next. Supplied as a matched front pair, it gives you more thermal capacity up front, a firmer pedal, and pad compounds matched to the job, so stopping power holds together when the car is genuinely working.
What this big brake kit does for your 2014-2020 Volkswagen GOLF 7 R
Fit this kit to your 2014-2020 Volkswagen GOLF 7 R and the first change you feel is pedal feel: firmer, more progressive, and consistent from cold to hot. The larger front discs add the heat capacity the R’s mass and all-wheel-drive grip demand, so repeated heavy braking on track stops pushing the pedal long. Three pad compounds – Street, Sport and Racing – let you set the bite for a daily commute, a hard B-road run, or a full track session without swapping hardware. The two-piece floating disc construction trims rotating and unsprung mass at the front axle, which sharpens turn-in and eases the load on the front suspension. The caliper colour range – from the no-cost painted finishes to custom Pantone, polished-forged and candy options – means it reads cleanly behind the wheels.
About the Front Brake Kit
XYZ Racing builds this as a dedicated front upgrade for the GOLF 7 R, pairing an uprated caliper with a larger front disc to move heat away from the friction surface faster than the factory setup manages. The disc is a two-piece floating design with a hollow-vane face that removes material to cut weight without giving up the thermal mass needed to resist fade, a trade-off that counts on a heavy AWD hatch. The calipers are hollow-bodied as standard. The kit covers three pad compounds, so the same hardware spans a road-friendly Street pad, a more aggressive Sport pad, and a Racing compound suited to sustained circuit temperatures. Calipers can be finished in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no cost, in a custom Pantone colour, in the polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, or in the candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange options, and discs are drilled or slotted at the same price. As a front-axle kit it targets the end of the car doing most of the braking work, which is where gains in heat management and pedal consistency show up first.
Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF 7 R (2014-2020)
This kit is mapped to the Volkswagen GOLF 7 R built between 2014 and 2020 – the top R-badged MK7, not the GTI or the lesser Golf variants. It is a front-position fitment, so it mounts to the front hubs of the R specifically. Confirm your build year sits inside the 2014-2020 window before configuring.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
