Caliper render for this kit:

The Golf 7 2.0 TDI carries most of its weight over the front axle, which means the standard rear brakes spend their life as a balance afterthought, right up until you brake hard from motorway speeds or string together laps and the rear stops pulling its share. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit gives the back axle of the 2WD diesel something to do, sharpening brake balance and steadying the car under load.
It is a rear-specific kit built for owners who have already remapped the torquey 2.0 TDI, added front stopping power, or simply want the Golf 7 to settle rather than let the nose dive and the tail go light. Three pad compounds and a full run of caliper finishes let you set it up for road, fast-road or circuit use.
What this rear brake kit does for your 2013-2020 Volkswagen Golf 7 2.0 TDI
The hollow-vane disc trims rotating and unsprung mass at the rear axle, which the MQB chassis feels as quicker, calmer wheel response over broken UK B-roads. With more bite at the back, trail-braking into a corner becomes more predictable: the rear contributes to deceleration instead of leaving everything to the front discs. On a track day the larger rear surface area resists the pad glaze and fade that the diesel’s standard setup suffers after repeated heavy stops. Pick the Street compound for quiet, low-dust everyday driving, the Sport compound for spirited road use with the heat range for the occasional track day, or the Racing compound when the car sees circuit time, and the bite point and heat tolerance shift to match.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow name refers to the disc, a two-piece floating rotor whose hollow-vane core removes material to cut rotating mass without losing thermal capacity. As a rear big brake kit it pairs uprated discs with matched calipers sized for the Golf 7’s rear hubs. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for harder use that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. The kit ships with a choice of three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, so the same hardware covers a daily diesel and a weekend track car, and faces come drilled or slotted at the same price. Caliper finishes run from the included Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost through premium polished-forged and candy options to any Pantone as a custom colour. It is engineered as a balance-correcting rear pair rather than a standalone front replacement, which is why it suits cars that have already addressed the front end.
Fitment for the Volkswagen Golf 7 (2WD) 2.0 TDI (2013-2020)
This kit is specified for the front-wheel-drive (2WD) Golf 7 2.0 TDI built between 2013 and 2020, covering both pre- and post-facelift MQB cars, and supplied as a left-and-right pair. It fits the rear axle only. Confirm your car is the 2WD diesel variant rather than a 4Motion model before ordering, as the rear hub specification differs.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
