Caliper render for this kit:

The ZZT231 Celica earns its following on the back of a 1.8-litre 2ZZ-GE that does its best work north of 6,000rpm, in a body that barely troubles 1,100kg. That lightness flatters the front axle but leaves the rear doing fairly modest braking work, and that is exactly where the XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Toyota Celica ZZT 231 (1999-2006) earns its place.
This is a rear-axle upgrade built to bring the back of the car into the conversation: more thermal headroom, a firmer pedal under repeat stops, and the freedom to match pad compound to how hard you actually drive. Supplied as a matched pair of rear calipers and two-piece floating discs, for a front-drive coupe that lives on trail-braking into tight corners, a composed rear end is worth more than the raw numbers suggest.
What this rear brake kit does for your 1999-2006 Toyota Celica ZZT 231
On a light front-drive car the rear brakes spend most of their life managing balance rather than scrubbing speed, so the gains here show up as stability rather than stopping distance alone. Step up to the Racing pad compound and the rear axle keeps its bite through a full session instead of going soft after three or four hard laps. The Street compound stays quiet and low-dust for the daily commute, while the Sport option suits a road car that sees the occasional track day. Either way the extra heat capacity means the 2ZZ can be wound right out and braked late without the rear stepping in unpredictably. The two-piece floating disc also drops unsprung mass at each rear corner, so the dampers keep the tyres planted.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
XYZ Racing builds the Hollow Rear Brake Kit as a matched rear-axle package rather than a single replacement disc, so caliper, disc and pad work together instead of as a parts-bin compromise. The "Hollow" name points at the design intent: a hollow-vane disc that trims rotating mass at the rear hubs, which on a sub-1,100kg car is a meaningful slice of the total. The disc is two-piece and floating, with a lighter alloy bell, and the caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty for sustained track use.
Three pad compounds span the realistic spread of use, Street for the road, Sport for fast-road and occasional track days, and Racing for sustained track heat. Caliper finishes start with red, yellow, gold, black and anodized black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone, premium polished-forged finishes in titanium, polished gold or polished silver, and candy finishes in teal, blue, red or orange, so the kit reads as a deliberate choice behind the wheel spokes. Discs are drilled or slotted at the same price, and the centre bell can be upgraded to two-tone anodized in five colours or titanium. The aim throughout is repeatable rear-axle braking on a chassis that rewards being driven hard and braked late.
Fitment for the Toyota Celica ZZT 231 (1999-2006)
This kit is cut specifically for the ZZT231 Celica built between 1999 and 2006, the high-revving 2ZZ-GE generation rather than the earlier 1ZZ chassis, and is supplied as a matched left-and-right pair. It mounts at the rear axle and is sold as a rear-only package, so pair it with a matching front setup if you want a balanced overhaul. Confirm your chassis code reads ZZT231 before ordering, as the seventh-generation Celica shared its shell with lower-output variants.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
