Caliper render for this kit:

The GDB Impreza puts more work through its rear axle than most fast saloons. Symmetrical all-wheel drive keeps the back end loaded under power, and on a circuit it is the rear braking effort that fades first. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Subaru Impreza GDB (WRX) gives that axle a 290mm two-piece floating rotor and a matched caliper to recover the heat capacity the standard rear setup runs out of.
Built around a φ 290 disc on a φ 171 mounting, this rear kit pairs with your choice of pad compound to finish the job the fronts start. For repeated stops from three-figure speeds, on track days, hillclimbs and hard B-road work, it is the part that keeps pedal travel honest after the factory rear discs have gone off. It is supplied as a matched pair of left and right rear corners.
What this brake kit does for your 2000-2007 Subaru Impreza GDB (WRX)
Fit it and the first thing you feel is a firmer, more predictable pedal once the brakes are warm. The larger 290mm rear rotor adds thermal mass, so heat soak arrives later and the rear axle keeps doing its share of the stopping instead of pushing everything forward. The Racing compound bites sharply for circuit use, the Sport compound balances bite and heat range for fast road plus the occasional track day, and the Street compound keeps cold performance and dust manageable on a car that still does the commute. Because the GDB’s all-wheel-drive system leans on balanced braking to stay settled into a corner, a rear that resists fade helps the whole car turn in cleanly rather than washing wide under trail braking. The result is more stops before the pedal goes long, and a back end you can trust through a full session.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit pairs a two-piece floating rotor with a hollow-cast caliper as standard, trimming rotating and unsprung mass at the back of the car without sacrificing the heat capacity of a 290mm disc. The φ 290 friction ring floats on a φ 171 alloy bell, sized to clear the GDB rear hub and run a dedicated fixed caliper rather than the standard sliding arrangement. Three pad compounds cover the spread of use: a Street option for road manners, a Sport compound for spirited road and occasional track work, and a Racing compound for sustained circuit duty. Disc faces are drilled or slotted at the same price, and the centre bell can be upgraded to a two-tone anodized finish in five colours or to titanium at checkout. Calipers are painted Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150 and premium polished-forged and candy finishes available, so the kit suits a subtle sleeper or a full visual build. For serious track use, a Hollow Racing caliper upgrade rated to 1000C, with no dust cover and a two-year warranty, is offered. The assembly is engineered as a rear-axle upgrade intended to balance a front big brake kit and bring the back of the car up to the same thermal standard.
Fitment for the Subaru Impreza GDB (WRX) (2000-2007)
This kit is sized for the Subaru Impreza GDB (WRX) chassis built from 2000 to 2007, using a φ 290 rotor and a φ 171 mounting diameter at the rear axle. Confirm your chassis code reads GDB before ordering, and check that your wheels offer adequate clearance for a 290mm rear rotor.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
