Caliper render for this kit:

The third-generation SH Forester carries its mass high and well aft of the front axle, so the rear brakes do more honest work than the tall-wagon silhouette suggests, particularly on a turbocharged 2.5XT loaded for a long descent or a track session. This XYZ Racing rear brake kit fits a matched pair of 315mm two-piece floating discs and hollow-cast calipers to the back axle of the 2008-2012 Subaru Forester, exactly where the factory setup runs short of thermal headroom first.
The discs pull weight out of the rear corners without surrendering clamping area, which matters on a car that already asks its AWD driveline and dampers to manage a fair amount of body mass. Street, Sport and Racing pad compounds let you set the rear bias to how the car is actually driven, from towing and daily duty through to repeated hard stops on circuit.
What this big brake kit does for your 2008-2012 Subaru Forester
On a Forester that tips past 1,500kg with a full tank and AWD hardware, rear brake temperature is the quiet limit on a downhill run or a busy track lap. The 315mm rear disc adds swept area and heat capacity so the pedal stays firm after consecutive stops instead of going long. The φ 191 centre dimension keeps the rotor sized correctly to the SH rear hub, and the two-piece floating disc trims unsprung mass at each rear corner, which helps the dampers control the tall body over kerbs and broken surfaces. Pick the Racing compound and the rear axle holds its bite through a session; choose Street pads and you keep quiet, cold-stop manners for everyday use, with Sport between the two for fast road.
About the rear big brake kit
The kit is built around a 315mm two-piece floating disc whose hollow-vane internal structure removes weight while keeping the swept area you need, mounted to a 191mm centre that suits the Forester’s rear geometry, and a floating bell that lets the friction ring expand under heat without warping. Disc faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, chosen when you order. Three pad compounds cover the spread of use cases, Street for stock-feel replacement, Sport for fast-road bite with manageable dust and noise, and Racing for sustained high-temperature work. The caliper bodies are hollow-cast as standard, removing material from non-load paths to cut weight while keeping piston area and stiffness intact, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade for dedicated track cars that removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Caliper finishes are offered in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a custom Pantone option, so the rear hardware can be matched or deliberately contrasted behind the wheels. The whole package is engineered to raise rear thermal capacity on a heavy AWD platform rather than simply enlarge the disc for show.
Fitment for the Subaru Forester (2008-2012)
This is a rear-axle kit for the SH-generation Subaru Forester built between 2008 and 2012, using a 315mm (φ 315) disc with a 191mm (φ 191) centre dimension. Confirm your build year falls inside the 2008-2012 span before ordering, and select the pad compound that matches your intended use.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
