Caliper render for this kit:

The Saab 9-3 2.0T AERO carries its mass over the nose: GM Epsilon platform, transverse B207 turbo four, drive going to the front wheels. Under hard braking the front discs take the brunt while the rears are left underworked, which is exactly why the back axle glazes or fades first once you start asking the car to stop repeatedly on a track day or a long Alpine descent. This XYZ Racing rear brake kit for the Saab 9-3 2.0T AERO gives the rear axle back its proper share of the job.
It is a rear-axle upgrade built around a matched pair of two-piece floating discs and uprated calipers, sized to add thermal headroom without upsetting the front-to-rear balance the AERO relies on. For owners keeping these cars sharp in 2026, a marque with no factory left standing behind it, fresh and serviceable braking hardware on a chassis the parts bins are quietly forgetting is worth as much as the outright performance.
What this brake kit does for your 2002-2012 Saab 9-3 2.0T AERO
The first thing you notice after fitting is a rear end that stops fading. The two-piece floating discs run hollow internal vanes that pull heat out fast, so the back brakes hold their bite through repeated heavy stops instead of going wooden halfway through a session. Because you choose the pad compound when you order, Street for the commute, Sport for fast road and the occasional lap, Racing for circuit work, the same hardware covers a Tuesday morning run and a Sunday track day. Rebalancing braking toward the rear also settles the AERO’s nose-led weight transfer under trail-braking, giving you a more neutral, confident platform into the corner. The kit reads clearly behind the wheel as well as through the pedal.
About the rear big brake kit
The rear big brake kit pairs two-piece floating discs with larger calipers to lift the rear axle’s outright stopping capacity and, more importantly, its resistance to heat. The discs use a hollow-vane internal structure to keep temperatures down, and the floating mount lets the friction ring grow under load without dragging the alloy bell out of true, which is what protects pedal feel over a hard stint. Drilled or slotted faces are offered at the same price, selected when you order. Three pad compounds are available, Street, Sport and Racing, so the kit scales from daily use to dedicated track duty without changing the underlying hardware. The caliper bodies are hollow-cast as standard for low weight, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use that removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and is backed by a two-year warranty. The whole package is engineered to correct the braking bias of a front-heavy turbo saloon and add the thermal margin the standard rear setup never had.
Fitment for the Saab 9-3 2.0T AERO (2002-2012)
This kit fits the rear axle of the Saab 9-3 2.0T AERO across the full 2002 to 2012 production run. Pad compound, disc style and caliper finish are all selected when you order, so confirm your preferred specification before checking out.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
