Caliper render for this kit:

The 996-generation 911 carries roughly two-thirds of its mass over the rear axle, which means the back brakes on a Porsche 996 GTR do far more of the work than they would on any front-engined coupe. Get the rear end right and the whole car settles under braking; get it wrong and the tail goes light at exactly the moment you need it planted. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the 2002-2005 Porsche 996 GTR tackles that directly, adding rear stopping capacity built to survive repeated heavy use.
This is a rear-axle upgrade for owners who drive the car the way it was meant to be driven: hard road work and track sessions where road pads start to wilt. It fits as a matched pair of rear calipers and discs, pairing a larger, more thermally stable setup with a choice of pad compound, so the rear keeps biting on the fourth lap rather than sinking into a long, soft pedal.
What this brake kit does for your 2002-2005 Porsche 996 GTR
On a rear-heavy 911, fade at the back shows up as a spongy pedal and a car that wants to run wide on corner entry. More rear thermal capacity holds pedal travel consistent as the discs heat, so trail-braking into a slow corner stays predictable. The three pad compounds let you match the axle to the job: Street for road, Sport for fast-road and occasional track, Racing for sustained circuit work. Stronger, more stable rear bite also helps the car rotate cleanly under braking, sharpening turn-in without provoking the tail. The caliper finishes – Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Pantone Custom Color for £150 – let the kit sit behind the wheel exactly how you want it read.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit is XYZ Racing’s big brake package for the rear axle, sized up over the standard 996 GTR rear arrangement to add disc area and heat headroom. It pairs the XYZ Racing caliper with a two-piece floating disc, the rotor mounted on an alloy bell so it can move under heat rather than cone or warp. It is a complete rear-axle solution rather than a pad-and-fluid refresh, aimed at owners chasing repeatable braking under load. Three pad compounds are offered – Street, Sport and Racing – so the same hardware suits a road car, a fast-road build or a dedicated circuit setup depending on how hard the car is worked. Disc faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, and the centre bell can be specified two-tone anodized in five colours or in titanium. The caliper comes in five included finishes: Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, with a Custom Color option and premium polished-forged and candy finishes available. For circuit-focused builds, the optional Hollow Racing caliper drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Because it targets the rear of a rear-engined platform, the emphasis is on consistent bite and resistance to heat soak, which on a 911 governs braking stability as much as raw clamping force does.
Fitment for the Porsche 996 GTR (2002-2005)
This is the rear brake kit specified for the Porsche 996 GTR built between 2002 and 2005. It is a rear-axle kit, so it works alongside your existing or upgraded front brakes rather than replacing them. Confirm your build year falls inside the 2002-2005 window before configuring, as the rear hardware is matched to this generation of the 996 platform.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
