Caliper render for this kit:

The R171 SLK 350 stows its folding steel roof low and far back, and that mass over the rear axle tells under repeated braking. The rear discs on this roadster do more work than its relaxed GT manners suggest, and the standard rear setup fades long before the M272 3.5 V6 runs out of pace on a give-it-everything back road. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mercedes Benz SLK 350 R171 (2004-2011) puts a bigger, lighter rear stopper where the factory left margin on the table.
Built around a two-piece floating, hollow-vane disc to trim rotating mass at the rear corners, this rear brake kit is the answer for fast-road SLK 350 owners who feel the back end go soft after a sequence of hard stops. Three pad compounds let you match the kit to how you actually drive, from quiet road use to genuine circuit heat.
What this rear brake kit does for your 2004-2011 Mercedes Benz SLK 350 R171
The first thing you notice is a firmer, more confident pedal that holds its bite as the discs heat up, so the rear axle keeps contributing under trail braking instead of handing everything to the fronts. The hollow-vane disc sheds rotating mass at the rear wheels, which sharpens turn-in and lets the rear-drive chassis settle quicker between corners. Step up to the Racing pad compound and you get bite that survives back-to-back stops on a track day, where the R171’s roof-laden tail otherwise overheats a stock rear disc fast. For road-biased owners, the Street compound gives you the extra capacity without squeal or cold-bite vagueness on the morning commute, while Sport sits in between with more heat range for fast roads. Caliper colour options run from the five no-cost finishes through premium polished-forged and candy choices, so the kit reads through the wheels as cleanly as it performs.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit takes its name from the two-piece floating disc: a hollow-vane rotor machined to remove material and rotating mass while keeping the swept face and thermal capacity needed for a heavier roadster. The rear-position kit pairs that disc with an upgraded caliper across three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, so the same hardware covers daily driving, spirited road use and circuit work without changing the calipers. The Street compound suits owners who simply want more headroom than the factory rear brake gives; Sport trades a little cold response for higher fade resistance; Racing is built for the repeated high-temperature stops a track session puts through the rear axle. The caliper body is hollow as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use, rated to 1000C with no dust cover and a two-year warranty. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, with two-tone anodized or titanium centre bells selectable, and caliper finishes span no-cost Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange, or a Custom Pantone for 150 pounds for owners matching a specific build.
Fitment for the Mercedes Benz SLK 350 R171 (2004-2011)
This kit is specified for the R171-chassis SLK 350 across the full 2004 to 2011 production span, covering the M272 3.5 V6 roadster. It is a rear-axle kit, so it can be run on its own or alongside a matching front big brake setup. Confirm your chassis code and build year against the R171 range above before you order.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
