Caliper render for this kit:

The W166 ML 250 Bluetec occupies a particular position in the Mercedes range: a vehicle weighing north of two tonnes that carries the more modest front brake specification from the lower-output end of the W166 family. Under routine conditions that trade-off is invisible. Push the ML close to its rated towing limit, drop it through a long Alpine descent, or run it loaded on a fast A-road and the stock system’s thermal ceiling becomes a genuine consideration rather than an abstract one. Fade onset, increasing pedal travel under sustained load, and a gradual softening of bite are the symptoms this specific variant’s owners recognise.
This front big brake kit addresses the axle where the W166’s considerable mass concentrates its stopping energy. Weight transfers forward hard on this platform under deceleration, the front rotors carry the load, and this matched pair of left and right front calipers and two-piece floating discs is built to carry more of it.
What this brake kit does for your 2011-2015 Mercedes Benz ML 250 BLUETEC W166
At over two tonnes of diesel SUV, the gains from a front brake upgrade scale directly with the car’s mass. Fitting this kit raises the front axle’s thermal ceiling, and the hard stops at the bottom of a mountain pass or on a loaded motorway approach are precisely where the improvement registers most. The hollow-vane rotor draws air through the disc face as the wheel turns, managing heat between applications, while the two-piece floating construction lets the friction ring expand cleanly and reduces rotating mass at the front. The three pad compounds let the owner set the character of the system: Street is the quiet, low-dust road default with the progressive, low-effort response suited to everyday ML use, Sport sharpens bite and widens the heat range for more deliberate inputs and loaded descents, and Racing is the track compound for circuit days. Disc faces are available drilled or slotted at the same price.
About the Front Brake Kit
The kit is configured for front-axle fitment on heavier platforms, where the imbalance between front and rear brake load is most pronounced. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, light and stiff, and accepts all three pad compounds within the same body, so pads can be swapped as use patterns change without changing the hardware. For sustained track use there is an optional Hollow Racing upgrade that deletes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C, and carries a two-year warranty. Braided lines firm up the pedal, and two-tone anodized centre bells in five colours or a titanium bell can be specified at checkout.
Included painted caliper colours are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for an additional 150 pounds. Premium polished-forged finishes (Titanium, Polished Gold, Polished Silver) and candy finishes (Candy Teal, Candy Blue, Candy Red, Candy Orange) show clearly through the W166’s typically wide, open-spoked alloys.
Fitment for the Mercedes Benz ML 250 BLUETEC W166 (2011-2015)
This kit is mapped to the W166-generation Mercedes Benz ML 250 BLUETEC, covering the full 2011-2015 production run and supplied as a left-and-right front pair. Fitment is front-axle only, which aligns with where the braking load falls on this platform. Confirm your build year against the vehicle identification plate before ordering, as the W166 run spans both pre- and post-facelift variants and build date matters for brake mounting specification.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
