Caliper render for this kit:

The W210 E-Class hides its weight well, but the rear axle of a 1995-2003 E 280 still has to haul a heavy executive saloon down the road, and the factory rear brakes were specified for sedate motorway work rather than sustained hard stops. Add a run of fast B-road descents or a loaded towing trip and the standard rear discs heat-soak quickly, pushing bias forward and softening the pedal.
This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit gives the rear axle the thermal headroom the original setup never had. The hollow-vane two-piece discs trim rotating mass while adding swept area, so the back of the car keeps pulling its share when the brakes are hot, which matters on a long-travel, comfort-biased chassis that leans on its rear end more than the driver expects.
What this brake kit does for your 1995-2003 Mercedes Benz E CLASS W210 E 280
After fitting, the first thing you feel is a firmer, more repeatable pedal on back-to-back stops; the larger rear discs and uprated caliper shrug off the fade that creeps into a tired W210 rear end on a downhill run. Front and rear braking stays closer to the balance Mercedes intended, so the car settles under braking instead of diving onto its nose and running wide at the exit. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, let you match the rear axle to how you actually use the E 280, from quiet daily commuting through harder fast-road driving to the occasional track day. The calipers come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, so the upgrade reads as deliberate behind the W210’s standard alloys.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit takes its name from the disc itself: a two-piece floating rotor with a hollow vane construction that sheds rotating and unsprung mass without giving up swept area or heat capacity. Bigger discs paired with a stiffer, uprated caliper give the rear axle more bite and far more thermal tolerance than the modest sliding setup the W210 carried from the factory. Three pad compounds mean the same hardware can run quiet and low-dust on the Street pad, sharper on the Sport compound, or aggressive on the Racing compound for circuit use. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing version for serious track use, rated to 1000C and warranted for two years. Calipers are offered in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone shade and premium polished-forged or candy finishes available. This is a rear-axle kit, supplied as a matched pair, intended to work alongside a sensible front setup so the E 280 keeps balanced front-to-rear braking. Everything is sized around the W210’s existing rear hub and upright, which keeps the job a bolt-on fit rather than a fabrication exercise.
Fitment for the Mercedes Benz E CLASS W210 E 280 (1995-2003)
This kit is cut specifically for the W210-generation E-Class in E 280 specification, covering the full 1995-2003 production run, and is supplied as a pair of rear calipers and discs. It mounts to the standard rear hubs and uprights, so no modification to the subframe or trailing arms is required. The W210 saw running changes across its life, so confirm your exact build year before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
