Caliper render for this kit:

The W216 CL 65 AMG hides its mass well until you ask it to stop. With the twin-turbo M275 V12 pouring more than a tonne of torque into the rear axle and a kerb weight comfortably north of two tonnes, this is a grand tourer that gathers speed far faster than its size lets on, and the factory rear brakes were specified for refinement, not for being leaned on hard and often.
The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mercedes Benz CL 65 AMG W216 attacks the back half of that problem. It adds thermal headroom and a firmer, more repeatable pedal where the standard setup goes long and soft, giving a heavy V12 coupé the rear-axle braking authority to match its pace on a fast B-road or a sustained downhill autobahn run.
What this brake kit does for your 2006-2013 Mercedes Benz CL 65 AMG W216
On a car this heavy, the rear brakes do more than trim speed; they anchor the back end under hard deceleration and keep the W216 settled when you brake deep into a corner. The two-piece floating disc sheds heat faster than the solid factory rotor, so the pedal stays firm through a run of stops from three-figure speeds instead of fading into a long, vague travel. The Street, Sport and Racing pad compounds let you match bite and temperature range to how you actually use the car: quiet and progressive for motorway miles, a sharper Sport pad for fast roads and the odd track day, or the Racing compound when you press on harder still. The result you feel is a shorter, more confident stop and a rear axle that stays composed rather than squirming.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
This is a bolt-on rear upgrade for the W216 platform built around a two-piece floating disc and a hollow-body forged caliper as standard. The disc’s friction ring floats on an alloy bell and its vanes draw air across the friction faces to pull heat out under sustained load, precisely the failure point on a two-tonne car stopped hard and repeatedly. The larger, more rigid caliper clamps the pad more evenly than the standard rear unit, which firms up the pedal and keeps pad wear consistent over a session. Buyers pick from three pad compounds: Street for refined road use, Sport for harder road and occasional track, and Racing for high-temperature track work. Painted caliper finishes come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for a small upcharge and premium polished-forged or candy options, so the upgrade reads as deliberate through the spokes of a big AMG wheel.
Fitment for the Mercedes Benz CL 65 AMG W216 (2006-2013)
This kit is specced for the rear axle of the W216-generation CL 65 AMG built from 2006 to 2013. It is sized for the V12 65 AMG variant specifically rather than the lesser CL models, matching the disc and caliper to that car’s weight and wheel package. Confirm your build year sits within the 2006-2013 span before you order.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
