Caliper render for this kit:

The W215 CL 55 AMG carries the better part of two tonnes on a long-wheelbase pillarless coupé platform, and all of that mass has to be brought to heel through the brakes every time you wind off an autobahn cruise. The rear axle does more of that work than most owners credit, and the factory rear setup was never specified with repeated hard stops in mind. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mercedes Benz CL 55 AMG W215 (2000-2002) addresses the back end specifically, restoring bite and thermal headroom where the standard hardware starts to fade.
This is a rear-axle upgrade for a heavy, rear-driven grand tourer, not a track special bolted onto a road car. It pairs two-piece floating discs with a choice of pad compound, so you can match the rear balance to how you actually use the M113 V8 coupé: settled motorway miles, spirited B-road work, or harder driving where heat is the enemy.
What this big brake kit does for your 2000-2002 Mercedes Benz CL 55 AMG
On a car this heavy, rear brake performance is mostly about staying consistent under heat, and that is where this kit earns its place. The two-piece floating disc design removes rotational and unsprung mass at the rear axle, which sharpens how cleanly the car settles under braking and takes load off the rear suspension. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, let you set the rear bite to suit the way you drive, from quiet, low-dust road manners to a firmer, more progressive pedal when you lean on it. Because the rears stay cooler and more stable, the whole car brakes more squarely, with less of the rear-end instability that creeps in once factory discs heat-soak. The pedal you get on the tenth stop feels like the one you got on the first.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit pairs a two-piece floating disc with a hollow-body forged caliper, the standard caliper construction across the range, lightened internally without losing the stiffness it needs under load. Fitted to the rear axle, it works as a matched package of disc, caliper and pad rather than a part-by-part patch, with the disc’s friction ring floating on its bell to absorb heat expansion without warping. Painted caliper finishes come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for a small upcharge and premium polished-forged or candy finishes to choose from, so the kit can sit discreetly behind the factory alloys or stand out through an open wheel. The three pad compounds span Street for everyday driving, Sport for harder road and occasional track, and Racing for sustained high-temperature work. Each compound shifts the rear bias and the temperature window the kit operates in, so the same hardware can serve as a refined GT brake or a serious fast-road rear axle. The emphasis throughout is controlled, repeatable stopping power for a coupé whose mass punishes underspecified brakes.
Fitment for the Mercedes Benz CL 55 AMG W215 (2000-2002)
This kit is cut for the Mercedes Benz CL 55 AMG in W215 chassis form, covering the 2000 to 2002 model years. It is a rear-axle fitment built around that platform’s hub and caliper mounting, so it suits the heavy W215 coupé specifically rather than the W220 saloon it shares running gear with. Confirm your chassis code and build year against the range listed before you order.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
