Caliper render for this kit:

For trail-braking a light-tailed FC3S into a slow corner, the rear axle does more work than most owners expect, and a tired factory setup is the first thing to give up. This XYZ Racing rear brake kit addresses that directly on the second-generation RX-7, giving the back axle the bite and heat tolerance to support the front under repeated heavy stops. It is built for the way an FC actually rotates: 13B revs climbing, the tail keen to come round, the driver leaning on the brakes deep into the apex.
The kit is a pair of left and right rear calipers with matched discs, offered with three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, so the same hardware suits a road-driven FC, a fast-road car, or a chassis that sees regular track sessions. Match the compound to how hard the rear is worked, and leave the rest of the system to do its job.
What this brake kit does for your 1989-1991 Mazda RX-7 FC3S
After fitting, the clearest gain is consistency. The FC’s rear brakes stop fading early under repeat use, so the pedal stays firm through a session rather than going long after a handful of hard laps. With the Racing compound, the rear holds bite at the temperatures a tracked rotary generates; the Sport compound covers fast-road work with a wider heat range; the Street compound keeps clean cold stops and quiet daily manners. Because the FC carries a modest rear weight bias, a rear axle that resists fade also keeps the car’s brake balance predictable, which matters when you are managing a tail that wants to step out on lift.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
This is a direct rear-axle upgrade for the FC3S, supplied as a matched caliper-and-disc package rather than a pad swap. The discs are two-piece floating units of hollow construction, offered drilled or slotted at the same price, with two-tone anodized centre bells in five colours or titanium selectable at checkout. The hollow-body caliper is standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C, no dust cover and a two-year warranty for serious track use. Calipers come in the included painted finishes (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black), a Custom Color matched to any Pantone, or the premium polished and candy ranges, so the kit can sit discreetly behind the wheels or stand out as part of the build. The three-stage pad choice (Street, Sport, Racing) lets you set the rear’s character without changing the underlying hardware. It is conceived as the rear half of a balanced big-brake setup, where the gains come from heat capacity and consistent friction rather than headline numbers alone.
Fitment for the Mazda RX-7 FC3S (1989-1991)
This kit is specified for the rear axle of the FC3S-generation Mazda RX-7, covering the 1989 to 1991 model years, and ships as a matched pair of rear calipers and discs. It is a rear-position kit, so pair it with a matching front setup if you are refreshing the whole car.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
