Caliper render for this kit:

The CX-9 TC carries close to two tonnes before you load seven people and their luggage behind the rear axle, and the bulk of every stop still lands on the front wheels. That leaves the rear doing quieter but persistent work: holding the car on long motorway descents, managing trailer weight, and resisting fade on a fully laden run home. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mazda CX-9 4WD (TC) MK2 rebalances that back end with larger discs and a stiffer caliper, so the rear axle contributes more usefully when the whole platform is working hard.
This kit is a pair of left and right rear calipers with matched discs. Pad compound is your call when you order: a Street compound for ordinary family duty, a Sport compound for firmer bite and a wider heat range, or a Racing compound when the CX-9 is asked to tow or descend repeatedly. Caliper finish runs from understated Black and Anodized Black through to Red, Yellow, Gold or a custom Pantone colour.
What this brake kit does for your 2017-2026 Mazda CX-9 4WD (TC) MK2
After fitting, the first thing you notice on a fully loaded CX-9 is that the pedal stops softening on long descents. The increased disc diameter gives the rear pads more leverage over the wheel, so the back axle takes a larger, steadier share of each stop rather than leaving everything to the front. The hollow-vane disc faces give the discs more surface to shed heat, which is what keeps bite consistent through repeated heavy stops, exactly the condition a heavy seven-seat Mazda creates when towing or coming down a long gradient. With a Racing compound fitted, the rear holds its torque when the discs are hot, so the whole car settles more squarely under braking instead of pitching onto its nose.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit is XYZ Racing’s heat-management answer for heavy road and tow duty rather than a stripped-out competition part. It takes its name from the hollow-body forged caliper and hollow-vane disc construction, which trim rotating mass and give heat a route away from the friction face. As a big brake kit it pairs larger two-piece floating discs with a matched caliper and the correct mounting hardware for this chassis, so the upsize is engineered around the CX-9 rather than adapted from another platform. Discs are offered drilled or slotted at the same price, with two-tone anodized centre bells in five colours or titanium selectable at checkout. Three pad compounds are offered: a Street compound for everyday family driving, a Sport compound for sharper response on the road, and a Racing compound for the most demanding loaded or towing work. The hollow-body caliper is standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C, no dust cover and a two-year warranty for serious track use. The caliper can be finished in the included painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black), a Custom Color, or the premium polished and candy ranges to suit the wheel and the car.
Fitment for the Mazda CX-9 4WD (TC) MK2 (2017-2026)
This kit is cut for the second-generation CX-9 on the TC platform with i-Activ all-wheel drive, covering the 2017 to 2026 model years, and ships as a matched pair of rear calipers and discs. It mounts to the rear axle specifically and is sized around that chassis, so there is no guesswork over disc diameter or caliper fit. Confirm your build year against the range above before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
