Caliper render for this kit:

The KE-generation CX-5 is a tall, front-heavy crossover that throws its mass onto the nose the moment you touch the middle pedal, leaving the standard rear axle doing comparatively little. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mazda CX-5 4WD (KE) sets out to correct that imbalance, giving the rear discs the size and thermal headroom to actually pull their weight under repeated stops.
This is a rear-axle upgrade, a pair of left and right rear calipers with matched discs, aimed at owners who load the car, tow with it, or lean on it harder on a fast road than Mazda’s comfort brief ever assumed. With three pad compounds and a full range of caliper finishes, you spec it for how you genuinely use the CX-5 rather than accepting a single fixed setup.
What this big brake kit does for your 2015-2017 Mazda CX-5 4WD (KE)
On a 1.5-tonne-plus AWD crossover, the rear brakes spend most of their life under-worked, then get caught out exactly when you need them: a long alpine descent, a fully loaded boot, a trailer on the back. The larger rear discs in this kit add swept area and mass, so the rear axle sheds heat instead of glazing the pads and shoving all the work forward. Choose the Sport compound and you get firmer, more progressive rear bite with a wider heat range for daily and fast-road driving; step up to the Racing compound and the rear holds that bite through harder, back-to-back stops; the Street compound keeps things quiet and low-dust for everyday running. The caliper also sits visibly behind the CX-5’s factory alloys, so the included Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black finish, or a Custom Color, earns its keep on looks as well.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit is a bolt-on disc-and-caliper package built specifically for the rear axle of the CX-5, not a generic adapter exercise. The hollow name points to the forged caliper body and the disc design, which trim rotating and unsprung mass at the rear hub while keeping the swept area a heavier crossover demands. The discs are two-piece floating units offered drilled or slotted at the same price, with two-tone anodized centre bells in five colours or titanium selectable at checkout. It is supplied with a choice of three pad compounds, Street for quiet OE-style feel, Sport for sharper everyday and fast-road response, and Racing for sustained high-heat work, so the same hardware suits a daily, a towing rig or a hard-driven weekend car. The hollow-body caliper is standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C, no dust cover and a two-year warranty for serious track use. The calipers come in the included painted finishes (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black) through to a custom Pantone, plus premium polished-forged and candy ranges. Because the kit is matched to the KE chassis, the discs, calipers and mounting hardware are sized to bolt to the factory rear setup rather than forcing a workaround.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
