Caliper render for this kit:

The JZS147 GS 300 left the factory as a quiet 2JZ-powered cruiser, and its rear brakes were specified to match: enough to settle a heavy, Giugiaro-styled saloon back from a motorway cruise, not to absorb repeated hard stops. Once these cars get used the way owners actually use them now, on spirited B-road runs, drift practice, the occasional track day, the standard rear setup is the first thing to fade. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Lexus GS 300 JZS147 (1991-1996) addresses exactly that shortfall.
It is a direct-fit rear upgrade built around a lightweight two-piece floating disc and a fixed caliper, sized to the φ190 rear hub specification this chassis uses. The aim is a firmer, more consistent rear bite that lets you balance a car carrying real mass over the back axle.
What this brake kit does for your 1991-1996 Lexus GS 300 JZS147
On a kerb-weight saloon like the GS 300, rear braking does more work than most owners credit, and a stronger rear end steadies the car under trail-braking instead of letting the nose dive and the tail go light. You feel it as a more planted, predictable stop and a pedal that stays consistent when you brake hard, repeatedly. The vaned hollow rotor sheds rotating and unsprung mass at the hub, which sharpens response and helps the discs shed heat between corners, and braided lines firm the pedal by removing OE hose swell. Three pad compounds let you set the kit up for how you drive: Street for quiet, low-dust daily use, Sport for firmer bite and a wider heat range on fast roads, and Racing for sustained high-temperature track work. The fixed caliper keeps pad contact even as the disc heats.
About the rear big brake kit
The kit pairs a multi-piston fixed caliper with a two-piece floating disc, replacing the factory rear assembly as a complete bolt-on package supplied for both rear corners. The vaned hollow core cuts unsprung and rotating weight while preserving thermal capacity, so the discs come up to temperature quickly and stay stable under load. Disc faces are drilled or slotted at the same price. The caliper is a hollow-body forged unit as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C and warranted two years for hard track use. Pad choice is the kit’s main tuning lever: Street suits road use, Sport steps up cold bite and heat range, and Racing targets sustained high-temperature work. Painted caliper finishes are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone and premium polished-forged and candy options, so the visible hardware behind the wheel matches the rest of the build. Everything is matched to the GS 300’s φ190 rear specification, which keeps the parking-brake function and rear geometry intact.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
