Caliper render for this kit:

The Freelander 2’s near 1.8-tonne kerb weight and tall, diesel-nosed stance push real thermal load through the rear axle on long motorway descents and under tow, which is exactly where the standard rear discs start to feel vague. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE TD4 4WD targets that weak point, adding rotor surface and venting where the heavy TD4 needs it most.
Built specifically for the L359 chassis without an electronic parking brake, the kit upgrades the rear friction surface while keeping the conventional cable handbrake mechanism intact. For owners running these as working 4x4s, on green lanes, behind caravans, through loaded family miles, it restores bite and consistency at the back end without disturbing the OE185 hardware interface.
What this brake kit does for your 2006-2014 Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE TD4 4WD
The vaned hollow disc rejects heat faster than the solid OE rear rotor, so repeated heavy stops stay firm instead of going long, whether you are hauling the Freelander 2 down from motorway speed or descending a pass with a trailer behind. Better rear thermal capacity also sharpens overall brake balance front and rear, taking some strain off the hard-working front axle on a vehicle this nose-heavy. Three pad compounds let you match the rear bite to how the car is actually used: Street for quiet, low-dust everyday road duty, Sport for harder fast-road or loaded work, and Racing for the most demanding sustained heat. The net result is a more confident pedal and a rear axle that keeps pulling its share.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit takes its name from its vaned hollow rotor construction, which trades a little rotating and unsprung mass for greater surface area and quicker heat rejection. It is a direct rear-axle upgrade for the Freelander 2, supplied as a matched pair of rear calipers and two-piece floating discs with the mounting hardware to bolt to the standard locations. Disc faces are drilled or slotted at the same price, and braided lines firm the pedal by removing OE hose swell. Pad choice spans three compounds: Street for everyday road use, Sport for owners who push harder or run heavier loads, and Racing for the most demanding thermal duty. The caliper is a hollow-body forged unit as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade for hard track use that removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Painted finishes are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone, premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange. Every part is matched to the OE185, no-EPB version of the L359 platform, so fit and parking-brake function stay correct.
Fitment for the Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE TD4 4WD (2006-2014)
This kit is specified for the Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE TD4 4WD (L359), 2006 to 2014, in the OE185 brake specification without an electronic parking brake. Confirm your car runs the manual cable handbrake rather than an EPB caliper before ordering, as that distinction drives the rear fitment here. Set your pad compound, disc style and caliper finish from the options when you order.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
