Caliper render for this kit:

The NSX puts more of its mass over the rear axle than almost any front-engined coupe of its era, so the back brakes on Honda’s mid-engined flagship carry more of the stop than newcomers to the chassis expect. The XYZ Racing rear brake kit for the Honda NSX (1990-2005) is built around that reality, adding rear clamping capacity that keeps pace with what the front axle is already doing on a hard-driven car.
On the NA1 and NA2 cars the factory rear setup is fine for the road but starts to wilt after a few hot laps, and on an all-aluminium chassis that weighs barely 1,400 kg, recovering brake consistency matters more than chasing raw outright power. This kit is a pair of rear calipers and discs, left and right, aimed at owners who use their NSX the way Honda intended.
What this big brake kit does for your 1990-2005 Honda NSX
After fitting, the first thing you notice is a firmer, more progressive rear pedal that holds its bite once the discs are hot. The hollow-vane disc design trims rotating and unsprung mass at each rear corner, which a light car like the NSX rewards with crisper turn-in and less unsettlement over mid-corner bumps. Pad compound is your call: the Street option suits quiet, low-dust road use, the Sport compound steps up bite and heat range for spirited driving, and the Racing compound is there for repeat track sessions. Braided lines keep the pedal firm under heat. Better rear thermal capacity also keeps the car’s braking balance stable instead of throwing all the workload onto the fronts.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The kit pairs two-piece floating discs, hollow-vane internally, with a hollow-body caliper to cut rotating weight while improving heat shedding at the rear axle. Hollowing the disc removes mass where it hurts handling most, out at the wheel’s circumference, without sacrificing swept area. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, let you spec the kit to how you actually drive, from road miles to circuit work, and for serious track use a Hollow Racing caliper upgrade drops the dust cover, takes a 1000C rating and carries a two-year warranty. Calipers are offered in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a custom Pantone finish and premium polished-forged (Titanium, Polished Gold, Polished Silver) or candy (Teal, Blue, Red, Orange) options, so the look behind the wheels is yours to set. It is a rear-axle upgrade meant to complement, not overwhelm, the NSX’s famously delicate front-to-rear balance.
Fitment for the Honda NSX (1990-2005)
This kit fits the rear axle of the Honda NSX across the full 1990 to 2005 production run, covering both the NA1 and NA2 chassis. It is a rear-position kit and is best run with a matching front setup so the brake bias stays where Honda’s engineers left it.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
