Caliper render for this kit:

The F10-generation 5 Series gained weight over the E60 it replaced, and the 528 wears that mass like the long-legged executive saloon it is – composed across country, quick to gather speed, and quietly demanding on its brakes when you start using all of it. On the standard rear setup that heft tells under repeated heavy retardation, where the back axle carries more of the job than most owners credit once load has transferred forward. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Bmw 5 Series F 10 528 is aimed squarely at that shortfall.
This is a rear-axle upgrade for fast-road drivers and the occasional track or hillclimb regular, not a cosmetic dress-up. The two-piece floating discs and matched calipers – a left and right rear pair – give the rear of the car the thermal headroom to keep slowing a 1.7-tonne saloon honestly into the third and fourth hard stop, where a tired standard rear disc starts to go long on the pedal.
What this rear big brake kit does for your 2010-2016 Bmw 5 Series F 10 528
The most obvious gain is consistency: the rear discs shed heat faster, so brake feel stays firm and predictable through a sequence of stops rather than fading into a soft, lengthening pedal, and the braided lines keep the bite solid. The two-piece floating disc construction trims unsprung and rotating mass at the rear axle, which sharpens turn-in and lets the dampers work over broken B-road surfaces. With three pad compounds – Street, Sport and Racing – you set the bite and temperature window to suit a daily commute, a harder weekend pace, or track heat. Behind the wheel that reads as a saloon that settles under braking instead of squirming, with the rear axle staying planted as you trail the brake into a corner.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The kit centres on two-piece floating rear discs that cut rotating weight while widening the cooling path through the disc face, the two factors that govern how long a brake holds its bite, with the discs available drilled or slotted at the same price. Calipers clamp those discs with more even pad contact than the factory rear arrangement, and the assembly bolts to the F10’s existing rear mounting points. The pad choice is the real flexibility here: the Street compound suits ordinary road use, the Sport compound trades a little cold bite for higher fade resistance on a spirited run, and the Racing compound is built for the heat of sustained hard driving. The caliper body is hollow-cast as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use – no dust cover, a 1000C rating and a two-year warranty. Painted finishes in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black come at no extra cost, with Custom Color in any Pantone for £150, premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange; centre bells upgrade to two-tone anodized in five colours or to titanium. It is a rear-specific kit, designed to balance a front upgrade or correct the F10’s standard front-biased braking.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
