Caliper render for this kit:

The E60 530 is a big, rear-driven executive saloon that hides its mass well right up until you start asking the brakes to work twice in quick succession. Most owners chase the front axle first and forget the rear is doing more than it looks – settling the car on turn-in, carrying load through fast direction changes, and managing the heat that a 1.6-tonne BMW generates on a downhill B-road or a track session.
This XYZ Racing Hollow rear brake kit is the upgrade that brings the back of the E60 up to the standard of a properly sorted front end. It adds thermal capacity and bite where the standard rear discs run out of headroom, and it lets you match pad compound to how the car is actually used rather than accepting the factory compromise. It is a rear-axle kit: a pair of left and right rear calipers and two-piece floating discs.
What this brake kit does for your 2003-2010 Bmw 5 Series E 60 530
The benefit you feel first is consistency: the rear stops shrugging off heat instead of glazing after repeated hard stops, so brake balance stays where you set it. The choice of Street, Sport and Racing pad compounds means a daily-driven 530 can keep the quiet, dust-light Street pad, while a car that sees track time can run the Racing compound for higher operating temperatures and stronger bite, with Sport sitting between the two for fast road and the odd track day. Behind that, the rear axle contributes more to slowing the car, taking strain off the fronts and shortening the distance the whole system takes to settle. On a heavy saloon like the E60 that translates to a firmer pedal under load – helped by the braided lines – and a rear that stays planted rather than skating as the discs cook.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit pairs two-piece floating discs with a fixed multi-piston caliper sized for the rear of a large BMW saloon. A vented friction ring on an alloy bell sheds heat faster than a solid factory rotor, which is the limiting factor on a car this size once braking energy starts stacking up, and the lighter assembly drops rotating and unsprung mass at the rear hubs. The caliper body is hollow-cast as standard; serious track users can specify the Hollow Racing version, which loses the dust cover for a 1000C rating and a two-year warranty. Three pad compounds are offered – Street for road use, Sport for fast-road and spirited driving, and Racing for track and high-temperature work – so the kit is set up for the duty cycle rather than sold as a single spec. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, and centre bells can be upgraded to two-tone anodized in five colours or to titanium. Calipers come painted at no cost in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black, with Custom Color in any Pantone for £150, premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange. It is a bolt-on rear axle upgrade built around the E60’s existing hub and mounting geometry.
Fitment for the Bmw 5 Series E 60 530 (2003-2010)
This kit is specified for the BMW 5 Series E60 530 across the 2003 to 2010 model years, covering the rear axle. Confirm your chassis code reads E60 and that your car falls inside that production span before ordering, and check your wheel clearance against the rear caliper as you would with any big brake upgrade.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
