Caliper render for this kit:

The E39 5 Series earned its reputation as one of BMW’s most rewarding driver’s cars, but its standard braking hardware was sized for a long-distance express rather than sustained circuit work. The 528’s M52-family 2.8-litre straight-six produces clean, revvy power, around 193 bhp in standard trim, and on a track day that pace quickly exposes the limits of the stock caliper and rotor combination. Under repeated hard stops from high speed, pedal feel softens and confidence in the braking point erodes.
This XYZ Racing Hollow Front Brake Kit addresses that gap directly. It is a single-axle front kit, a left and right pair of calipers on two-piece floating discs, set up at the configurator above. The hollow-vane disc manages heat more effectively than a standard ventilated disc, and with three pad compounds, Street, Sport, and Racing, the kit covers everything from a daily commute to a lap session at a dedicated circuit without a compound change at the gate.
What this brake kit does for your 1995-2003 Bmw 5 SERIES E 39 528
The E39’s near-perfect weight distribution means the front axle carries a genuine share of every deceleration load, and a stock setup was never designed with repeated hard stops in mind. The two-piece floating disc improves heat dissipation between braking events, which helps maintain a consistent friction interface at the pad-to-disc surface and preserves pedal feel through successive corners, while reducing unsprung and rotating mass and letting the friction ring expand without coning. Three compound grades let you calibrate bite and fade resistance to your actual use case: Street is the quiet, low-dust choice for road driving, Sport suits spirited fast-road and light circuit work with extra bite and heat range, and Racing is there for extended sessions where heat management is the priority. Caliper colour options, from the included no-cost painted finishes through to premium polished and candy choices, let the visible hardware complement the car’s wider aesthetic.
About the Hollow Brake Kit
XYZ Racing’s hollow-bodied caliper is the standard baseline here, keeping weight off the front axle, while the two-piece floating disc targets the core thermal limitation of conventional ventilated discs: the rate at which heat migrates through the disc body under sustained load. The vane geometry lets the unit shed heat between hard braking events more rapidly than a standard casting, which protects the friction interface and maintains compound performance. The front-axle specification is matched to the E39 5 Series platform, with caliper geometry, rotor diameter, and mounting hardware sized for this chassis rather than adapted from a generic fitment via spacers or shims. Three compound grades, Street, Sport, and Racing, mean the kit’s character can be set to the driver’s actual demands, from everyday road use through to demanding circuit driving where consistency across the heat cycle is non-negotiable, and the optional Hollow Racing caliper, dust cover removed, rated to 1000C and carrying a two-year warranty, extends the system for hard track use. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, centre bells upgrade to two-tone anodized in five colours or to titanium at checkout, and caliper colours span the included Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, and Anodized Black, a Custom Color in any Pantone, premium polished Titanium, Polished Gold, and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red, and Orange. The kit covers the front axle only.
Fitment for the Bmw 5 SERIES E 39 528 (1995-2003)
This kit is specified for the BMW 5 Series E39 in 528 configuration, covering the full production run from 1995 to 2003, spanning both the original E39 body and the 2000-onward facelift, which retained the same front suspension geometry and brake carrier dimensions. If the car has had any prior brake modifications, confirm the hub and carrier specification against the fitment data before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
