Caliper render for this kit:

The E46 320’s factory front brakes were calibrated for a car producing between 150 and 170bhp on road duty: single-piston sliding calipers, 296mm discs and a thermal budget that gives up sooner than the chassis does the moment you start using the car properly. Anyone who has put an E46 on a circuit will recognise the pattern, progressive and confidence-inspiring feel through the early stages, then a gradual softening of pedal resistance as heat accumulates in hardware that was not designed for sustained hard use.
The XYZ Racing front big brake kit addresses that gap directly. It is a single front-axle kit, a matched pair of calipers and two-piece floating discs. Three pad compounds, chosen when you order, let the system be specified for whatever the car does most, from fast-road use to committed circuit running, and caliper colour is included across Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150.
What this brake kit does for your 1998-2006 Bmw 3 Series E 46 320
Compared with the standard E46 320 front setup, a big brake kit increases the swept area available to each pad compound and introduces a stiffer caliper body, which sharpens pedal feel noticeably from the first drive. The E46 platform already communicates well through the steering and the seat; upgrading the front braking brings the feedback from the pedal up to the same standard as everything else the chassis does. The hollow-vane disc moves cooling air through the rotor body, and the two-piece floating ring grows under heat without coning while trimming rotating and unsprung mass. With the Racing compound selected, the system holds its bite across an extended session rather than fading, particularly relevant on a car whose balance rewards confident, late trail-braking. With Street selected, the same kit delivers a firmer, more responsive pedal on the road with low dust and quiet running and no cold-bite penalty.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
The XYZ Racing front-axle kit replaces the stock caliper and disc arrangement on cars where the OEM specification no longer keeps pace. The caliper runs a hollow body as standard, keeping reciprocating weight low; for sustained circuit driving a Hollow Racing upgrade drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. The three-compound pad structure is the kit’s most practical feature: Street provides a progressive improvement in feel with low dust for daily-driven or lightly modified cars, Sport increases high-temperature resistance while retaining usable cold bite on a morning commute, and Racing handles the sustained thermal loads of circuit driving where repeated hard stops are the operating condition. Braided lines and a choice of drilled or slotted disc complete the specification. Caliper colour across the included painted finishes, plus premium polished-forged and candy options and two-tone or titanium centre bells, makes the upgrade as visible as it is functional, particularly on E46s running open-spoked wheels where the caliper sits squarely in the sightline.
Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series E 46 320 (1998-2006)
This kit is confirmed for the BMW 3 Series E46 in 320 specification across the full 1998-2006 production span, covering saloon, coupé, touring and cabriolet body variants that shared the same front hub and brake architecture throughout the generation. Verify caliper clearance against your wheel profile before fitting, particularly if you run smaller-diameter rims for dedicated track use.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
