Caliper render for this kit:

The E30 323’s M20B23 straight-six pulls hard all the way to the red line, which is exactly where the factory front braking spec starts to feel inadequate. BMW’s original hardware was dimensioned for 1982 road use, and while the E30’s near-50/50 weight balance flatters a competent brake pedal, forty-plus years of harder use has outpaced what the standard setup was ever designed to handle.
The XYZ Racing front big brake kit answers that gap directly. It is a single front-axle kit, a matched pair of calipers and two-piece floating discs for the 3 Series E30 323, covering daily driving through to full circuit use, with three pad compounds and a caliper colour choice that keeps the installation looking considered behind the wheel.
What this brake kit does for your 1982-1991 Bmw 3 Series E 30 323
On a rear-wheel-drive E30, braking balance matters more than on many platforms: the front axle absorbs the majority of deceleration load, and the 323’s relatively light kerbweight means brake temperatures climb quickly under sustained use. The hollow-vane disc improves heat dissipation compared with a solid disc, which is particularly relevant on the E30 where the original braking specification was conservative relative to the chassis’s actual capability. The two-piece floating ring also grows under heat without coning and cuts rotating and unsprung mass at the front axle.
Pad compound is chosen when you order, from three grades. Street covers mild road miles, Sport adds bite and heat range for spirited and occasional track driving, and Racing is built for repeated high-speed stops on circuit. Braided lines firm the pedal and discs come drilled or slotted at the same price. Caliper colour across Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black is included at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150, suiting the range of wheel styles the E30 community favours, from factory Mahle alloys to period deep-dish aftermarket designs.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
The caliper runs a hollow body as standard, keeping reciprocating weight down, and is matched to the E30’s front axle so it avoids the clearance complications of hardware built for a larger platform. The two-piece floating disc draws cooling air through the rotor body during rotation, pulling heat away from the friction surface more aggressively than a solid disc under the same load, which matters most on an older platform never designed to absorb the thermal cycles of track driving. Compound is committed at order stage, so the kit configures to a specific use case rather than splitting the difference. For hard circuit use a Hollow Racing upgrade removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Premium polished-forged and candy caliper finishes, plus two-tone or titanium centre bells, are selectable at checkout, which counts on a car that frequently runs open-spoke wheels where the caliper is visible.
Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series E 30 323 (1982-1991)
This front brake kit is specified for the BMW 3 Series E30 323, covering the full production run from 1982 to 1991. Fitment is front axle position only (SKU: XYZ-BRK-BKF-BM-02-E-FRONT). The E30 323 ran across multiple body styles, coupé, saloon, cabriolet and touring, so confirm your front hub and existing disc specification against the configuration options above before selecting.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
