Caliper render for this kit:

The 8T S5’s mass sits stubbornly over the front axle, the V8 hung ahead of the wheel centreline and quattro piling driveline weight onto the nose, which is exactly why the rear axle rarely gets the credit it deserves under braking. On a track day or a committed fast-road run, the rears are doing more work than the spec sheet suggests, particularly under trail braking into a long, loaded corner. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Audi S5 8T Quattro (Type I) gives the back axle the thermal headroom to keep contributing once the standard discs start to glaze.
It is a rear-axle upgrade matched to the way this quattro coupe loads up: larger two-piece floating discs to dump heat and trim unsprung mass, with a forged caliper and pad package you spec to suit your use. For 2007-2012 cars that see repeated heavy stops, it keeps the brake balance honest instead of letting the fronts shoulder everything.
What this big brake kit does for your 2007-2012 Audi S5 8T Quattro (Type I)
Upgrading the rear brakes on a nose-heavy car like the S5 is about stability as much as outright stopping distance. The two-piece floating discs carry more usable thermal mass and shed heat faster, so the rear axle resists fade through a sequence of hard stops rather than giving up early and pushing all the work forward. Choose the Racing pad compound for circuit sessions, the Sport compound for hard road and light track work, or the Street pad for quiet, low-dust feel on the daily commute. Braided lines hold the pedal firm under heat. The payoff is a rear end that stays settled under braking, holds its line on turn-in, and returns a firmer, more repeatable pedal as the discs come up to temperature.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit takes its cue from the disc itself: the two-piece floating rotor’s internal cooling vanes are formed as hollow channels rather than solid pillars, which cuts rotating and unsprung weight while increasing the surface area working against heat. The forged caliper is hollow-bodied as standard. Less mass at the rear corners helps the dampers keep the tyres planted over mid-corner bumps, and the added cooling capacity is what lets the kit hold up where the standard rear setup runs short of thermal room. The discs pair with the caliper and a choice of three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, so the same hardware spans daily duty through to track work. Caliper finishes run Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a custom Pantone option for matching a particular wheel or trim. Braided lines are included, discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, and the centre bell can be upgraded to two-tone anodized in five colours or titanium. Everything is sized for the rear axle of this Audi, so it lands as a balanced complement rather than an oversized mismatch.
Fitment for the Audi S5 8T Quattro (Type I) (2007-2012)
This kit is cut for the 8T-generation Audi S5 Quattro (Type I) built between 2007 and 2012, and fits the rear axle only as a pair of rear calipers and discs. It is designed to work alongside either the factory front brakes or a matching front upgrade. Confirm your registration year and chassis code before ordering so the rear disc and caliper sizing matches your car.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
