Caliper render for this kit:

The FY Q5 is a substantial machine. Quattro variants sit close to two tonnes on the road, and the MLB Evo platform’s longitudinal engine placement puts considerable mass over the front axle before braking forces even enter the picture. The factory brakes cope with commuting and motorway miles without drama, but repeat hard stops on a mountain descent, a heavily loaded run, or a track experience day quickly reach the thermal limits of a setup that was never sized for sustained hard applications at this kind of vehicle weight.
The XYZ Racing front big brake kit for the Audi Q5 (FY) (2017-2026) tackles that front-axle load head on. It fits as a matched pair of front calipers and two-piece floating discs for the left and right of the front axle, with three pad compounds and a full range of caliper finishes selected when you order.
What this brake kit does for your 2017-2026 Audi Q5 (FY)
On a near-two-tonne longitudinal quattro, the front brakes absorb the bulk of every stop regardless of how the drivetrain distributes drive. The hollow-vane discs move heat out of the friction surface faster than the solid factory rotors, which is what keeps pedal feel firm and repeatable when the temperatures climb. The two-piece floating disc construction lets the rotor expand and contract without warping the bell, and the lighter assembly trims unsprung and rotating mass from the front corners.
Pad compound is where you tune the kit to your driving. Street is the quiet, low-dust road default, ideal for a daily-driven Q5. Sport adds bite and heat range for fast-road work and the occasional track day. Racing is a full track compound for owners who keep the front brakes loaded across back-to-back braking zones. Braided lines come as part of the package, firming up the pedal by removing the swell you get from ageing rubber hoses.
The FY Q5’s larger alloy options expose enough of the front hub to make the caliper plainly visible through the spokes, so the finish reads. Included painted colours are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, and Anodized Black at no extra cost. A Custom Color in any Pantone is available, and premium finishes run from polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver through to candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange.
About the front brake kit
This kit is calibrated for the specific demands of a near-two-tonne longitudinal quattro, a platform where front-axle braking loads are significant and compound choice makes a real difference to how the car behaves under hard deceleration. The calipers are hollow-bodied as standard for strength without excess weight, and a Hollow Racing upgrade is offered for serious track use, dropping the dust cover, rated to 1000C and carrying a two-year warranty.
The disc face can be drilled or slotted at the same price, so the choice is purely down to looks and feel. Centre-bell upgrades are available too, in a two-tone finish across five anodized colours or in titanium, all selectable at checkout. Every part of the spec is built into the kit at production rather than added later.
Fitment for the Audi Q5 (FY) (2017-2026)
This kit is engineered for the second-generation FY Q5, covering the full production run from the 2017 model year through 2026. The FY generation encompasses TFSI petrol and TDI diesel variants, including the higher-output SQ5, all sharing the same MLB Evo front subframe architecture. If you are uncertain whether your specific trim level falls within the listed fitment, cross-reference your chassis code against the XYZ Racing fitment guide on this page.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
