Caliper render for this kit:

The Q5 8R’s front axle carries the weight of a platform designed around versatility: a crossover that hauls families and gear during the week, then gets pressed harder than its factory brake specification anticipates at the weekend. On the 2WD variant, without quattro’s mechanical spread across all four corners, the front brakes shoulder an even greater proportion of every stop. The XYZ Racing front brake kit answers that loading directly: a front-axle pair of left and right calipers with matched two-piece floating discs for the 2008-2017 Q5 8R, closing the gap between what you expect from the pedal and what the OE components can actually sustain under pressure.
The 8R’s elevated ride height is not a passive characteristic at the limit; it translates into pronounced nose-dive under hard braking, loading the front wheels aggressively in the moments that matter most. Factory discs were dimensioned for urban duty cycles and mixed motorway use, not for the repeated hard deceleration a driver who genuinely presses on will generate across a fast A-road or a track day.
What this brake kit does for your 2008-2017 Audi Q5 2WD 8R
The first thing you notice after installation is pedal feel: more swept area means the brakes respond earlier in travel, cutting out the progressive sponge that stock 8R items develop once temperatures build through a fast section. The hollow-vane disc design draws heat away from the pad-to-disc interface more efficiently than a solid casting, keeping the friction material inside its intended window rather than pushing it past the fade threshold. The lighter two-piece discs also cut rotating and unsprung mass at the front, and braided lines hold the pedal firm where rubber hoses would swell. Three pad compounds let you calibrate the kit to how this Q5 is used: Street is the quiet, low-dust default for routine mixed driving, Sport sharpens initial bite on fast roads, and Racing is the track compound for circuit days where braking zones demand more from the friction material. Calipers are hollow-bodied as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use, rated to 1000C, no dust cover, two-year warranty.
About the Front Brake Kit
XYZ Racing’s front brake kit centres on a two-piece floating disc that prioritises heat management through hollow-vane geometry rather than relying on cross-drilling alone, which can introduce stress concentration points under the repeated thermal cycles a heavier SUV platform generates. This front-axle kit is sized and validated for the Audi Q5 8R floorplan, accounting for wheel-arch clearances specific to that chassis. Discs come in drilled or slotted face at the same price, with optional two-tone centre bells in five anodized colours or titanium at checkout. Included caliper colours are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150 and premium polished-forged (Titanium, Polished Gold, Polished Silver) and candy finishes (Teal, Blue, Red, Orange) also available. Pad compound is selected when you order across three grades: Street for everyday mixed use, Sport for a sharper initial bite on fast roads, and Racing for circuit days where sustained braking zones demand more from the friction material.
Fitment for the Audi Q5 2WD 8R (2008-2017)
This kit is specified for the first-generation Q5 on the 8R chassis, covering the full production run from 2008 to 2017. It is validated for the 2WD drivetrain variant; owners of the quattro Q5 8R should verify part compatibility before ordering. The front-axle fitment applies across all 8R 2WD engine variants within that production window.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
