XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen PASSAT CC SEDAN 4WD φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2010

The Passat CC’s 4Motion layout puts more weight over the front axle than a standard three-box Passat, and the factory-fit adaptive damping was never tuned to let that mass rotate on demand. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover replaces those electronic dampers with a fixed, mechanically adjustable φ55 monotube setup, and includes the cancellation kit needed so the dash stays clear of the fault codes a straight coilover swap would otherwise trigger.

This spec exists for one job: keeping the CC’s body flat and predictable through sustained, controlled rotation at speed. Three external adjustment knobs per corner give separate control over that behaviour without pulling the strut apart, and the lower ride height that comes with a proper coilover swap drops the centre of gravity right where a drift car needs it dropped.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2010 Volkswagen Passat CC

Replacing the factory electronic dampers with a mechanical monotube setup means the CC’s suspension behaviour is no longer decided by a control unit reading road inputs on the fly; it’s decided by the numbers set on the day. Independent ride-height adjustment lets you drop the nose enough to unweight the front tyres at the point of rotation, which matters given how much of the CC’s mass already sits ahead of the front axle in 4Motion form. The φ55 monotube body resists heat build-up better than a thinner twin-tube shock under the sustained, repeated steering inputs that drift technique involves. With the electronic damping cancelled out, the car also loses the intervention that would otherwise fight a deliberately unsettled rear end mid-slide.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing designed the Pro Racing Drift Spec line specifically around the demands of drift competition, rather than adapting a general track kit to the job. The core aim is body control: keeping the chassis stable while the car is deliberately being asked to rotate at an angle, at speed, repeatedly. Getting the ride height down with the correct bump stroke is central to that; lower it properly and the car holds its drift angle far more cleanly than it would on standard-height suspension. Damping adjustment runs through three external knobs, each metering oil through a deliberately small passage rather than a wide-open valve. The trade-off is that hard, repeated bumps can produce a faint noise through the shock body, which is a normal by-product of that small-orifice design rather than a fault. The whole kit is built with circuit-track use as the baseline, so bump absorption over kerbs and surface changes is accounted for rather than treated as an edge case.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Passat CC (2008-2010)

This kit is built for the Volkswagen Passat CC Sedan, chassis code VO34-C, across the 2008 to 2010 model years in 4WD (4Motion) form. It’s specified for the φ55 shock body diameter and includes the cancellation kit needed for cars that left the factory with electronic adaptive damping, so the fitment applies specifically to that electronically-damped 4WD variant rather than the standard Passat CC line. Confirm your car’s original damper type against its VIN or spec sheet before ordering, since the cancellation kit only applies where the factory fitted electronic damping.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
