XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Volkswagen PASSAT CC SEDAN 4WD φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2010

The Passat CC 4Motion’s factory electronic damping control turns ride firmness up and down through a module, which is exactly what has to be disconnected before a set of manual coilovers can do their job properly. This Circuit Master kit for the VO34-C chassis includes the cancellation hardware needed to retire that system cleanly, so the φ55-strut dampers you’re fitting run purely on the adjustments you make rather than on electronics second-guessing them.

For a car built to carry real weight and torque through four driven wheels, sustained circuit lap-time work exposes the standing suspension’s compromises quickly – body roll under load, a chassis tuned more for a comfortable cruise than for repeated direction changes. Circuit Master replaces that with a damper built specifically for hard, repeated laps rather than one enthusiastic road drive.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2010 Volkswagen Passat CC

With the electronic damping cancelled and the Circuit Master struts doing the work instead, the CC’s 4Motion chassis gets a suspension tune that stays exactly where you set it, corner after corner, instead of a control unit adjusting on the fly. The 9720-way damping adjustment lets you separate compression and rebound behaviour precisely enough to manage this car’s nose weight under trail-braking, and to keep the rear settled as the all-wheel-drive system shuffles torque front to back mid-corner. Ride height adjusts independently of spring preload, so you can lower the centre of gravity for track use without losing the range needed to keep driveshaft and subframe angles sensible on a car this heavy. Under hard braking into a chicane, the reduction in front-end dive keeps load spread more evenly across the front tyres, which matters more on a nose-heavy 4Motion sedan than on a lighter, rear-drive car.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s range, built for circuit-only use rather than as a road-and-track compromise. The damper offers 9720 discrete combinations across its 3 external adjustment knobs, giving separate control over damping characteristics so the same strut can be set up for a tight, bumpy club circuit or a fast, smooth one. That range of adjustment comes from a small-oil-hole metering design inside the damper body; over rough tarmac or kerbing it can produce a faint noise as oil passes through the passages, which is a normal characteristic of this level of adjustability rather than a fault. XYZ has run this damper with its own racing teams across international circuits, developing the valving specifically for sustained, repeated laps rather than a single fast run. For this VO34-C application, the kit is supplied with the cancellation hardware needed to take the factory electronic damping control out of the circuit, so the car runs on the Circuit Master’s manual valving alone.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Passat CC (2008-2010)

This kit is specified for the Volkswagen Passat CC Sedan 4Motion, chassis code VO34-C, built between 2008 and 2010, fitted with φ55 struts. It is the cancellation-kit variant, which includes the wiring needed to disable the factory electronic damping control so the manual Circuit Master valving can take over.
